Rock This Town
The best part was today I got a check from my head oncologist for $150.(!!) and the sweetest note:
Dear Nancy, please find enclosed my donation for your benefit. I am so happy that you are doing so well after your treatment. You are an inspiration to us all. With my appreciation and then it was signed by him.
I could have flown over the moon today I was so happy. Cancer was a pain in the **** and I would not want to go thru it again but I do have to say it has focused my life in alot of ways and out of bad do things do happen.....
Peace, Nancy

Congrats
Congrats on the success of your fundraiser! You must be proud (it kinda showed in your message ). This disease is so tough to deal with, but it isn't the cancer that defines us.... it's what we DO with the knowledge and how we pass it on and pay generosity forward! After all, most of us needed help in one way or another, to overcome the physical, emotional, and financial burden treatment causes.
May god bless you.

Thanks Clinton. I especially love our local cancer association which was founded in the 40's and all money stays local. Irregardless of income they help with your drug bills and also money towards gas to get to your treatments and appointments. Each cancer patient gets up to $100. per month to help with expenses. They have a wonderful lending library, help with wigs, supplements, etc. Next week we present the checks to both organizations.
As a younger person I was pretty wild and didn't do much for anyone except me. I am now 62 and my life is full with volunteer work and doing things that matter. You can teach an old dog new tricks and life is GREAT!0 -
