First of all I would like to let you know couple months ago I tried to post and not sure if get posted. Seemed is hard to get in the site each time I logged in.But got to read some of the ffeed back whenever I can logged in. All the feed back are all very confronting and helpful. THANK YOU ALL!!

February I was diagnosed npc. stage 2. would you believe today is my last chemo treatment? and I still have 8 treatmnents left on rad.
AM in critical stage treatment and hoping for suggestion (never mind the pain we know is soo painful.)
What will I do with thickness of saliva? it feel like is choking me specially when ever I go to my Rad treatment.
How can I ease the pain? I take my morphin for pain it helps some but the pain in the throat does'nt ease up. I don't eat anymore, I feed myself thru the Gtube. I want to eat so badly..

Anyone can give me input I'll appreciate them. Sorry for all the misspell as I said am on lots of painkiller.

you found the right place !
Hello and welcome. you have found the best possible source of inspiration here on these discussion threads. I used a mix of salt, baking soda and water and it helped. I would make up a batch and fill empty water bottles. Gargle with it, don't swallow-it.

You should not be in constant pain. Talk to the docs and get something stronger. It is difficult to heal when you are in pain. Since you have 8 rads left, you may just now be coming into the time where you will feel the worst. So make sure you have the right meds to get thru the next 2-3 weeks. Morphine did NOT work for me. I had success with liquid hydrocodone.

Use the feeding tube and make sure you get enough water. Very important to stay well hydrated during treatment and recovery. You may not be able to swallow food, but try to at least sip water during the day...or switch to ice chips so that you continue to use your swallow muscles.
GOOD LUCK with the rest of the rads. Check back in here often if you have questions.
