Just for fun - Bio Question for all my message board friends
Just for fun (and if you don't mind) I thought I would ask a few bio ?? if anybody wants to play along. I'm sure over the months / years you all have figured that out so hope my topic is not redundant.
Tim & Jennifer Cogdill / five kids (all mine and Jennifer's. lol) / currently living in McCall, Idaho
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii (Navy brat)
Lived in Tallahassee, FL., Orlando, FL., Atlanta, GA., Milwaukee, WI., San Diego, CA., Omaha, NE., Jackson, MS., Rock Springs, WY., Green River, WY.
Currently manage two hotels and an RV Park McCall.
I love the hospitality business!!
I love the outdoors and watching old british sitcoms on TV like "Are you being served" / Faulty Towers" and "Mr. Bean" ... those are the best!!!!
I spent 10 years with Hilton Hotels and loved / still love to travel and meet new folks. I have always made it habit to ask my guests / business accounts "where ya from". So I guess that's why the topic post.
Don't worry, I won't pop in on you or anything ...just that "rambling man spirit". Always loved meeting people.

I'm always interested in where people are from and what they do for work and fun...
I was born and raised in Montana...Kalispell...gateway to Glacier Natl Park. Went to school at Gonazaga University, and ended up staying in Washington for 17 years before moving back to the Flathead Valley.
I've been married to Greg for 25 years....he has a daughter, who seems like my own...and a 5 year old grandaughter living in Tacoma.

I was born in SC, lived in Germany for 5 years ( my dad was AF), then moved back to SC. I graduated from Clemson University in 2007 with a BS in Animal Science. Started my Masters for counseling then met my husband. Decided to give up school because I knew I really wanted to be a mom.:) Elli was born last June. She'll be a year in a little less than a month. Right now we live in Cola, SC and I get to spend my days watching Elli grow and learn!0 -
Navy brat here too
So I lived all over the place as a kid; dad retired in Jax FL, where I went to high school. Went to college here in Gainesville (Go Gators!) just down the road and never left. My gf when I graduated law school (now Mrs. Krashpad) still had a year of undergrad to go, but staying here was fine by me, after all the moving I'd done.
Just celebrated our 25th anniversary a couple weeks early w/a cruise to Jamaica and the Caymans. Daughter in school @ UCF (ORL) and son in high school.
My day job is with a consulting firm that does research for other attorneys. So although I don't make the big bucks many associate with being a lawyer, I can wear shorts, t-shirts, and slaps (FL slang for flip-flops) to work, and never have to deal with suits, ties, judges, or courts. At least, not directly.
Played in my first band in law school, and never looked back. Still play in my punk rock band (formed in '96), doing original music I write. Began playing in church in the mid-90's and still play most every Sunday. Unless I gigged the night before.
Also, began writing about music in the early 90's and currently have a local music column in a local quarterly mag that an old college buddy edits.

A 19 year old daughter (pain in the ****).
Born in Manchester, England. Spent 4 years in the Royal Navy.
Moved to South Florida 1988,
Worked for Budweiser as a District Sales Manager for 13years.
Set up my own picture frame & custom matting business for the last 10 years.
Last year bought a franchise into a company with over 1million surnames in
their database ( Historical Research Center ).
With their Name Histories and my Custom Frame and Matting I started a
Company called "Custom Made Names" and towards the end of 2011 I got a
Contract with Holland America which we went on one of their ships ( ms Eurodam)
For two weeks(free) and sold lots of products. My wife and I cruise quite a lot
19 cruises so far but most of that is with Carnival (at least 2 per year).
Everything was going to plan then the big " C " hit in November so after keeping in
touch with the Cruise Line everything got put on hold until I'm ready to go out again.
Ok thats enough, sorry if I went on to much but I could of wrote a book.........Lol

Like you though, we have a big advantage being right here in FL within driving distance to ports.

Tim: I'm a big fan
of the Britcoms as well. But our local PBS channel took them off Saturday nights in favor of showing old movies, and moved them to Sunday mornings, when I'm in church.

Another Brit here, from the east end of London. Was a musician. Started out with Steve Marriott and the Frantiks, moved on to The Syndicats with Steve Howe (pre-Yes) and then with Tony Jackson and the Vibrations. Moved to the US in 1974 and started a business. Business did not work out so had to get a real job. Played with a band in New Hampshire for quite a while before moving to York, Pa. Retired now. 3 years since finishing TX for laryngeal cancer. I got a hard time from the Brits because the say we have the better beers
They say all American beers taste the same. Also they say "American beer is
like making love in a canoe.....its f@*#ing close to water"........lol
But it was a different story when I did promos everybody liked me then cause
I was giving things away, t-shirts, hats, FREE DRINKS.
On the cruising, look at off peak months, Feb, Oct,. 5 day to Key West, Mexico
on Carnival are around $250 or less per person.

Meagan ...My parents grew up on SC ...Greenwood. I have a cousin who still lives there (1st cousin) ...my uncle recently died....April Cogdill is her name ..in fact a lot of Cogdill live in NC/SC and TN. Micheal Cogdill works as an anchor for a big TV station up there ..he's a friend of mine on fb...
Dan ...I have a dear friend who lives in Ipswich (sp) England ...he came to see up last year here in McCall and swears he's coming back soon (Ian McColl and his wife Marlene) ..
Brian ..I lived in Gainesvill for a year .....I was there when all those college kids were murdered by that crazy serial killer ..man that town was on edge ....I think there were five of them killed .... My Unlce on my mothers side lived in Jacksonville and I used to go over there ot the Orange Park area and visit...we also had a Wacamaw Store over there when I worked for Waccamaw ...
Funny how close we all are connected in a round-about way.

Yes, the Danny Rolling murders in GNV, I was here then also, those were dark days indeed. Of course, he was a drifter and not even from Gainesville, so that could've happened anywhere. Those 5 names are still on the SW 34th Street graffiti wall.
What a lot of people forget was that originally the authorities got the wrong guy, and the whole town was just about ready to lynch the poor kid.
Despite that ugly chapter I do love it here. Small town charm with some big city amenities (sporting events, museums, two large and well-run hospitals). And of course for a muso like me, the arts/music scene is off the charts for a town of this size. Especially for one of my fave genres, punk rock.0
