I have been thinking of you all. I have not had much time lately to get on here with work, etc. I have been extremely tired of late. I know its because of the surgery, now 6 weeks later, but it is all I can do some days to get to work, get through the day and get back home to get my chores done for the day. I hope all is well. Will get on here as soon as school is done so I can catch up. Jan

    All in good time...
    Hi Jan,

Good to hear from you, it takes time to fully return to "normal" with fatigue being one of the chief lingering symptoms.

    Hang in there,

    Gary

Jan, I bet some of those chores are less crucial than others and could be held in abeyance for a while, taking second place to giving yourself the best chance to recover as swiftly and completely as possible.

    Also 8 weeks beyond surgery
    Hi Jan,
I'm 8 weeks beyond surgery and I found my self taking 2 naps yesterday. I've been back at work full time for 4 weeks and I still get home and feel exhausted some days. I suspect that it will t5ake us several months to get full energy and stamina back.

Take care of yourself and rest when your body is tellintg you that you need it.

    Sounds normal to me
    Jan and Ed,

Sounds like you are both doing fine. You may have to wait until next summer to go on a roller coaster.

    Jan and Ed,

Wishes that boundless energy is right around your corners--but between now and then--make taking care of yourself your priority. . .

    4 months post op
I am just now starting to get lots of energy. I can come home from work and walk about 3 miles around my neighborhood. So hang in there. It does take awhile to get it back.

Im about 6 weeks out of
Im about 6 weeks out of surgery and I feel like I can take the world on first thing in the morning but by noon ish I loose all steam and feel like I could fall asleep standing up. Doesnt matter how much sleep I got the night before either. I am hoping my energy level will get better with time. I need to go back to work and my job requires a bit of energy. Oh also, FYI... I had a bone scan done Friday.. got the results back today.. no cancer in the bone!!! yeahhhhhhhhhh.. It did show some degenerative changes in multiple joints, predominantly shoulder joints, kneejoints and feet articulations. Arthritis right? I Hope everyone had a great mothers day.. Judy

    Getting Old
    Judy,

Now that we are getting older all of these other things challange us. First we conquer RCC and then they refuse to give us a pass on the other ailments. For some reason I do not feel as fit as I was 10 or 20 years ago. RCC, no. Just getting old. A little nervous to become a septagenarian in 14 months. Probably have to work on my bucket list before than.

    Flipping?
I'm not seeing any special effects Gary - what are you referring to?

I had noticed that iceman has changed attire. I thought the weather was getting a bit warm for that tuxedo so I approved of his changing into summer gear. Now I see he's got even cooler but I think he should stop his stripping off at this point!

On my screen my and iceman's new and old images keep exchanging, when I post the newer ones appear, when I just read, the old ones come back, maybe somebody dosed my computer with LSD when I wasn't looking.

Could be LSD - and it's certainly nothing to do with your computer! It's not happening on mine (which still has you in a green space suit addressing a mob of meerkats).

    Time to heal
Hey J-ROD,i remember the day before my surgery last November i went for a 20 mile bike ride thru a forest preserve,it felt so surreal me being in such good physical condition but yet in a way i was dying.Well on the day of my surgery my world came crashing down and it took a good 8 weeks to get to what i feel to be 90% of the person i was before then winter came and i felt like a magnet for sinus infections colds and such.I remember waking up after my second surgery on may2 and relizing i no longer felt sick as a matter of fact i finnally felt like the old Mike and have been kickin it ever since, try not to think about it to much trust me you will be your old self soon.
