'We have me back' - I love that! Congratulations (on everything) from the very, very bottom of my heart!
We have different anniversaries. Today is the anniversary of diagnosis . . . after which we found I also had some ovarian masses which turned out later to be benign (another anniversary???) August 15 will be the last day of treatment and there is that date in November (the Wednesday before Thankgsiving 2011) when we got the "cancer free" diagnosis from my Colo-rectal surgeon.A year ago the diagnosis was actually a relief. Having untreatable pain was worse. My doctor suggested the location of the tumor - six o'clock - contributed to the nerve pain issues.
Anyway - thanks you Rose! You were the first one to respond and you are always such a support to us.0 -
congratulations!
Congratulations Sandy on your one year anniversary!!! Its amazing how surviving cancer puts everything into perspective.I used to say.."I knew my husband loved me..but i didn't realize how much."Things become very clear when you go through something like this. The residual pain will get better.I had pain with BMs 2 1/2 years after. That has finally gone away...I am almost 4 years NED in August.Celebrate!!! You deserve it!!!! Hugs ..alyse0 -

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is always good to celebrate major timeline hurdles. I saw my colo rectal doctor Thursday and he said he would see me in a year. I was seeing him every six months. I am 3 years 3 months NED. I went out the same day and bought me another diamond ring after the office visit.

Hi there, I am also an Anal Cancer survivor and wanted to say congratulations on your one year anniversary. It has been almost 3 years since my diagnosis. November will be 3 years cancer free god willing. My husband used to flush my pic line for me every night. I am so glad I don't have to go through that anymore.
I hope you have many, many years cancer free FOREVER!!!0 -

Congrats Sandy and to all with upcoming anniversaries! Its wonderful and important to hear the good things. It helps those of us just starting or finishing treatment. You all deserve to celebrate in a big way!!
Congrats again to all!
Randy
Congratulations on your one year NED milestone! It coincides with my birthday! Of course 50+ years more lol! I spent my birthday weekend in Chicago and had a wonderful time. I think it's the firt time since my whole cancer ordeal - almost 3 years, that I really had so much fun. Glad we both had much to celebrate!
Continued blessings to all,

Thanks. The pain I have is spasmodic down the back of the legs. It is worse when I have pushed myself past the point when I have felt tired and probably needed to rest. I realize now that it starts in the low, low, low . . . as far as you can go . . . back:-) It is worse after passing a hard stool and subsequent bleeding that irritates an already angry are of scar tissue right at 6:00. Thank God rest helps. I am glad you are getting hip replaced as it will probably provide you much relief and at least you have an explanation for all that terrible pain you have had besides this kind of stuff .
All the best,
Sandy0 -

Thanks for that share. Is that a recent picture? You look great. I can't believe how curly my hair is. At first I thought "this is great, I've always wanted naturally curly hair!" Now I am already saying "enough already . . . who is this person?" But obviously it would be a good idea to keep remembering "cancer free . . . cancer free . . . cancer free!" We are cancer free!0 -

It will be 3yrs for me in July, We should all be proud we did it there were times I didn't think I could get through it, but here we are.
Three years! Thanks for sharing that. It really helps. How much better do you feel than say . . . if you can remember, nine months after your last treatment. I sometimes feel discouraged.
Thanks,
