BC Treatment in India

My wife (age under 40) was diagnosed with BC (to be precise TNBC - out of the 3 - one of the harmones is focal positive, the other 2 are negative) in March 2012. She has a lump on her right breast the size of an apple that grew quite fast (started from the size of a cherry to apple in less than 45 days). The tumor was quite hard (like that of an apple also). She also had a small growth (size of a pebble) on her left breast as well (bilateral). Nipple on right breast was retracted - with scaled skin.
We consulted an senior highly experienced oncologist and the treatment plan was quite scary (chemo for 8 weeks, surgery and then radiation etc.) the side effects were quite difficult to read.
After much debate and considering all options, we are now trying an alternate therapy in india and for the last 1 month and so far seems to be working out. We're noticing small improvements - the small tumor on her left breast is not be seen / felt - breast has also seems to have come back to normal shape (looked sick earlier, no wrinkles around areola before etc.), right breast nipple has come out, scalings have gone from the skin, the tumor is becoming slightly softer on the right side, although the size is still large (still the size of an apple).
The doctor indicated that perhaps the cancer must have spread to other parts of the body as well before the treatment (e.g. she lacked the sensation to pass urine, had slight breathing difficulty etc.). After the treatment for the last 1 month, she now has the sensation to pass urine, breathing is clear and her hunger has improved also.
If I see more improvement in another 2 months time, I'll share more details of the treatment if any of you are interested. The doctor said this could be a long-drawn out process / treatment that can last from 6 months to 3 years. We need a lot patience and courage through this treatment.
We're still a worried family, and these improvements are small rays of hope. Prayers are helping a lot to keep the worry factor down, plus support of our extended family has been great.
We're all shocked that my wife could have gotten BC - she's led a healthy lifestyle so far, watches carefully what she eats. We have 2 children, both breastfed. Someone told us earlier - there is no reason to get BC - it just happens.
Thought I'll share our story - it feels good to share.

What...
What is the alternative therapy? Very curious.....I understand your fear... I, too, am triple negative as are quite a few on this board.
Yes, chemo, surgery and radiation is scary but I feel it's the way to go...the side effects can be managed....
Triple negative breast cancer is a very aggressive type..... I've been fighting it for 3 years....
Everyone has to do what they feel is right for them but personally if the doctors think it has spread, her best chance is with traditional treatment...
Even with traditional treatment mine has returned but is stable at this time...
Wishing you and your wife the best...please keep posting...we care0 -
Not understanding - if 1 of
Not understanding - if 1 of the 3 is positive, how is that Triple Negative? ER/PR/HER2 all need to be negative to be TN - at least that was how it was explained to me by my Drs. TN is not the type of BC - it's a sub-type/modifier of the type (DCIS, IDC, LCIS, ILC or IBC).
Prayers for your wife.0
