Mother lost her battle she fought it hard. She wanted to live but told me it was her time to leave this world and be with her loved ones that have gone on before. She was calling for her mom at the end I guess we always want our mothers when we are hurting. She was 83 and had lived a good life. She had 8 kids three had already left us. My sister died February of 2011 with colon cancer. My brother died in 2008 and my youngest brother died in 1970 due to drowning. It is so hard to let go of our loved ones but she was really suffering till the very last week. When we asked her if she was hurting she said no which was very strange. Then she no longer needed food and Hospice told us do not force her at that point to eat offer it and she refuses that is ok. I have four siblings left and we were all around her bed and her home when she passed. She wanted to stay in her home. I thank god we were able to give her that wish. I am sure the days will get easier but this is a hard one. Thanks for letting me express how I feel right now.

Sorry for your loss!
I am so sorry for your loss! My mom was just diagnosed with GBM4 on April 6, 2012 and today (May 3, 2012) they informed her she has lung cancer as well. I can't imagine the emptiness you must feel right now. Even though she had a long, good life, I know it's never easy losing loved ones. Go on remembering all the good times you shared. Time does heal, don't be afraid to mourn, it's a part of the healing process. You have my deepest sympathies.0 -

Losing your mother...
So sorry to hear that your mom lost her battle but it sounds as if she was suffering a lot so it must have been her time to go.
Losing your mother is very hard, I lost my mom ten years ago and I still think of her everyday but now I can smile when I think about her.
Each day will become a little easier.
My best to you and your entire family,

I lost my mom as well
I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my mom on May 3rd from her lung cancer as well and I am having a hell of a time! My mom was the same way, was in no pain (thank god) but faught hard for 9 months and when she was diagnosed with Mets to the brain in December, it seemed as if the fight got harder and harder to win. We still faught, but unfortunately the cancer won
My mom was 79 years old and had a wonderful life (never was sick for what I could remember). She lived a wonderful life. After her crainiotomy we noticed changes in her, we decided to take her home as well along with the help of hospice.
Your mom and mine are now living a life without pain and suffering. I know that you miss her terribly, but she will always be with you, I actually feel my mom with me at times
Please take care of yourself
