Husband was stage 4, now NED
My husband is going into his 2nd month after his surgery. He is doing well. He did a follow up with his oncologist and he said everything is clear and NED. At this point we will just go in and have him check and hopes that he stays NED.
It's amazing how far he has come. I pray for each and everyone of you each day. This has been a long and hard journey and I thank all of you for all of the words and guidance I have received. I know will still are on the journey, with the checks, scans, and blood work.
I am so happy to see my husband doing some of the things he did before the dx. He still has a hard time with his hands and feet. He says his scar is ugly, I told him it is beautiful. It reminds me of how blessed we are.
I will continue to keep in touch, because I feel like this board is a place where I can go and where I know there will be understanding of what we have gone through.
I know that it's a change the cancer can come back one day. The way I see it, is it's not today! And one more day his his with us.
So stage 4 does not mean to stop fighting, it means to fight harder!

that ain't the reason....
John...ask yourself "am I helping others?".
CP: Glad to hear your husband is doing well. Of course one needs to keep their guard up but one also needs to take our victories when we can.

Very eell put Phil. I understand Johns point. But it is a little harsh and we do have to celebrate our victories without letting our guard down.

I started to write a long, long reply (since it'd take that much to
explain), but I would be stealing this thread just to explain it
all to you! It is much more economical to let you read my
"profile" page, where the details already are!
Best of my wishes for good health, Pepe'.

Hi My Frends.
Thanks you all for the well wishes. We are going to enjoy all the good moments and good news that we can. That does not mean we have lost sight of what could happen, this disease has touched not only our lives but people close to us.
I have a co worker who is currently dealing with breast cancer, I watch her dealing with not being able to climb steps and not being able to walk with the grace I once saw her walk with. We just buried my husband uncle this past Monday from colon cancer. So the list goes on and on. So when life gives you the moments to be happy and enjoy life, grab those moments.
I'm sure we all have our days. But I thank the lord for giving me and my kids more time with my husband.
Thanks for all of your kind words.

Keep an eye on things and like you said,
"We are going to enjoy all the good moments and good news that we can".
Many of us have/had cancer but that is no guarantee that we won't get hit by space junk and die...
:-)
Enjoy!

John seems to have the worrying well covered so go on and celebrate, Cynthia! There are no guarantees with or without cancer. Yours is good news indeed.....enjoy!

So... were the spots - that you learned in 2011 were there in 2006 - cancer? Colon cancer? Were you diagnosed by the 2011 doctor as having stage IV colon cancer in 2006? Do you have active cancer now? Are you NED? What about the spots? Are they gone? And what is your point?
Based on what you said, you are stage IV and will always be stage IV; therefore, according to you, your prognosis is not good. So get your own affairs in order and quit worrying about everybody else's.
Many people here are just wanting to share a moment of peace and thankfulness with others in the same boat. It is my opinion that if you have nothing supportive to say you should zip it. Log out. Take the Chinese herbal or whatever equivalent of a "chill pill" and leave people alone.0
