    Thank you, Rose!
Thanks to you and everyone else on this board for all the good luck wishes and prayers! They worked! I am happy to say that I crossed the finish line in 5 hours, 21 minutes and 44 seconds! Certainly not a fast race, but well before the 6 1/2 hour time limit. It was hard going at the end, but we made it! Thank you all for the great support!

    Go Martha!

    Martha,

When I woke up yesterday morning I said a quick prayer for you and wished you a burst of extra energy during Mile 24 from all of your friends here at the CSN. I'm glad you made it (I would still be running/walking it now!) and that you have conquered another challenge. Isn't it nice to be able to choose your challenges instead of them being foisted on you? For all the newbies and those whom have recently completed treatment; there is life and a lot of it after treatment for AC. Great job Martha!

    How are you feeling now?
Are your muscles extremely sore? Are you extremely fatigued? Would you do it again?

You are one amazing woman. I have so admired you this past year for the many ways you have helped myself and others. Speaking for myself and the others here - we love you for your continued wisdom, courage, steadiness and strength of purpose.

You all are the best! I appreciate all the congratulations so very much! I don't think I could have done this without the support of everyone here. This was as much your marathon as it was mine. I am happy to say that I am walking better today than I was yesterday. I am extremely tired though and I'm sure it will take awhile to recover. It was a wonderful experience though and a dream come true for me. Thank you to each and every one of you for being such great cheerleaders!

Do not give up on riding a bike! I didn't think I would ever be able to do that again either, but I have found that I can do it just fine now. Padded bike shorts are definitely a must though!

    Hi Carol--
You are very sweet! Thank you for the congrats and the kind words. I can not take credit for you making it through the last year--you need to be patting yourself on the back first, then give high 5's to everyone on this site. What a wonderful group of people! I hope you are doing well and I wish you the best!

    biking
I used to be a spin bike instructor (one of my jobs) but it became impossible, I was in so much pain before my diagnosis. The acupuncturist told me I would have to stop spinning completely (I had already given up teaching but was doing it at home on my own spin bike). Now I am up to five miles a day woooo hoooooo! I asked my husband to get our bikes out of the sub basement yesterday. Yes it hurts my privates but that goes with biking anyway. I try to position my rear so it hangs over the back of the seat. It took me 20 minutes at first but now I've cut that time to 17.50 so I may add more miles this week. I have never loved and appreciated that bike so much since I looked at it longingly before and during treatments, thinking I may never ride it again. Before I get on the bike, I do 20 minutes of Chi Gong which warms all my joints. I have quite a few Chi Gong/Tai Chi videos and do it in my home office which also houses my spin bike. My legs hurt from exercise but they hurt anyway. I really don't see much difference but notice the difference in my mood - nothing like endorphins to pull me out of the dumps. You are a couple of weeks behind me in treatments, I think. maybe soon you can dream of biking.
