Tomorrow's the day..

My surgery to remove the nasty Stage 2 N0M0 scc tumor and surrounding tissue from the side of my tongue is scheduled for 3pm tomorrow, 5/4. I have to get to day surgery at 12:30 for xrays and more tests that my ENT has ordered. They didn't tell me what the tests are for and I forgot to ask... I think I've gotten kind of numb about this. It seems to help.. Channeling positive thoughts, but it's all about to get very real tomorrow.

There are so many questions that wont be answered until after the surgery. And I'm trying very hard to let the answers wait... We will know soon enough, right? And it certainly doesn't help to worry, right? Wasted energy... Right?

So tomorrow at 3 it is. Of course I would have preferred early in the morning... But 3 it is.

Let the healing begin!

My initial suregry to remove the tonsils was around the same time....

HOME AGAIN HOME AGAIN jiggled jig !!
Just got home! 22 hrs post surgery! Everything great so far. The pain meds are keeping the pain checked. Tongue swollen, but can "eat" liquids and can talk somewhat understandably.

The greatest news is that my doctor thinks he got it all!!! We will know more in a week when the biopsy is complete, but the initial accessment done by someone he trusts at the hospital was excellent!!! Fingers and toes are crossed. I go back to see him late next week! PHEW! Such a relief!!!

Thank you ALL for your positive thought, healing energies and prayers. I felt wrapped in the protective arms of them! You are such fantastic support!!

Correct me if I am wrong but your stage 2 thing is by itself highly curable. You shouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be the case. Best wishes...
