Nausea what to do?

Okay I'm rads only 2 away from the end and about 3 weeks ago started this vomiting thing I think from epiglottis damage - maybe the flap did not close properly preventing me from getting proper nutrition and hydration. So I've started hydrotherapy at the cancer center with pepcid in the IV. At home I'm taking protonics every 8 hours and zofran and I do have some difflucan left for thrush. I quit taking hydrocodone probably 10 days ago. Every time I drink a boost plus or ensure a wave of nausea comes on. A well meaning nurse suggested drinking juices instead and my stomach revolted violently. I have my personal dogs as well as foster dogs depending on me so I need my energy and just to feel better. Also the plan was for me to return to work Monday. I'm lucky to get 250/350 calories a day. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    PEG Tube?
Maybe you should consider a PEG tube? That would bypass the throat and hopefully get the nutrition into your stomach directly. Has your doctor mentioned it to you?

Have you tried Emend? I don't know if it helps with radiation-related nausea, but it has help with my chemo-related nausea.

    I found some stuff today.....
at the health food store called...Nux Vomica. It's worked for me today with nausea, tho I'm not suffering violent nausea, just the "I feel puny and green around the gills" type. You toss 3 or 4 of the teensy little pills under your tongue and let them melt, no taste. They did seem to help me today.

I'm wondering too, if you don't need something a little more high powered in the nausea med department....like Emend or comopozine (trying to remember the entire list my Onc has me on for after chemo)...Zophran was one.

    Thank you Laralyn and Phrannie
I haven't left the house to go to the health food store yet Phrannie but I'm going to look for that stuff. I'm also calling in the morn to see if I can get some better nausea meds. It's got to be something that doesn't make me drowsy because I really need to work at the office this week. Laralyn, I think the reason the doc has not mentioned the PEG is that tomorrow and Tuesday are my last rad treatments. I do believe however if I'm not able to get better nutrition soon, I could be forced into it. I just think there is something else we can do instead. The good news is I was a little overweight to start but not much if any anymore. Thanks so much for both of your input :)

    phrannie makes a point
the only antiemetic you r on is the zophran. it will take a script, but to add emend, compazine or thorazine would be logical.
