JoeMetz Update
Greetings Minnie and everyone here on CSN.
Had my scan today and my primary doc called me about 4 hours later... got some great news.
In November 2011, I had about 30 liesons on the liver. the largest ones measured 7.1cm x 3.5cm.
Started my chemo treatments 1-3-2012 and 9 weeks ago i had another CT scan... that largest lieson measured 4.1 x 2.2
well... good news... today that large lieson is classified as "small" by the radiologist.
and, all other liesons are "small".
Additionaly, there is NO new cancer. NO Cancer growth. And NO cancer in the lymph nodes or anywhere else.
a little more background on my cancer battle... I had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 23 years ago and only had radiation treatments to remove the large tumor in my chest... the docs today said they would never radiate anyone as much as i got 23 years ago. And, most likely my colon cancer was caused from the radition and it traveled 4cm to the liver... and never went to the lymph nodes or any other area.
Had colostomy surgery Dec 18, 2011 so today, I'm a "bagger".
amazing to be Stage IV, yet be improving this much...
last week i was so sick and tired of chemo that i told my wife that i was ready for it to be over. I've had 16 weeks of chemo and have 8 weeks to go.
Now... I'm ready for the next 8 weeks.
bring it on. Let's kick the Cancer Monsters Butt!!!
Hugs!

That's great, Joe. You sound like my daughter - inoperable liver with lots of mets but dramatic results from chemo. She is going to have Theraspheres in addition to the chemo (Folfiri) to try to wipe the liver mets out once and for all, or at least get them to operable. She also has no evidence of disease anywhere else.
Hope your good fortune with the chemo continues and that you will be able to zap those tumors into submission with whatever it takes.
