My mom has been diagnosed with two different types of cancer Neuroendocrine carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. We were told it started in the appendix. The doctors that are treating her say that they have never seen this before and are trying to find the right chemo to help with this condition. Has anyone out there heard of this? If so, does anyone know of a chemo treatment that can help? The best cancer treatment location to go to? We have selected one. I am searching for answers. Please help.

The same diagnosis - neuroendocrine carcinoma and adenocarcinoma
Unfortunately, I cannot give you any advice but when I read this, I felt I just had to reply: this is exactly the same diagnosis that my mom got in November. Word for word - it even started in the appendix like your mom's.
Did you get any other replies? I would love to know if you got any answers, any advice?
I also feel like your last words: please help....0 -
My husband had
My husband had neuroendocrine carcinoma in his nose 25 years ago, and has FAP. As a result he's had multiple adenomas, some with dysplasia. There isn't much data in the literature about a connection between these two things, however, I've seen quite a few cases like this on these boards. Maybe there is a connection and the doctors haven't found it yet?
Good luck with your treatments!0 -
I just saw this
Didn't realize is was on Appendix cancer. I had mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix, and am 5 years out from dx, and healthy.
It is imperative that with an Appendix Cancer, you find a specialist in Appendix Cancer, not just a colorectal specialist. These tumors respond differently.
Please message me if you want more info, as I don't regularly read posts on this forum.0
