Bad days
Another biker - might have known it - lovely pic.
Sorry you're getting a bad break Mike. At least you've got what's needed to take it on the chin. Do keep us up to speed on your situation and we'll all be waiting to hear how it's going to be tackled. The tumour is still small so you're right in thinking things could be worse.0 -

Limelife I am sorry to hear you that you have to go through this again. I know a guy who had a kidney removed 21 years ago, 11 years ago it came back in the other kidney twice so they did partials. That was 10 years ago & he is doing very well. I will be thinking about you.0 -
Your courage & attitude amaze me keep smiling! You are in my thoughts.Olsera said:little heartbroken

Yes, rs57, I couldn't agree more and it's cases like the guy Olsera mentions that help Mike and you to keep the chin right up when the going gets harder - you can see that it's all doable.0 -

Mike - please re-read my message (unless you're pulling my leg - maybe that's 'yanking my chain' over there?). I referred to the guy (that) Olsera mentioned.
Now, I may be a lot older than you but I can still tell the difference ;-)0 -

Fox
Never, ever give up hope. It never hurts to get several opinions- it is your life, after all. It took Fox a few tries as well as many others to find a doc and treatment that worked best for them. Not everyone will respond the same to a particular treatment. It just means you have to keep trying until you find the right one for YOU!0 -
Good Luck!
Good luck with what you are facing. My husband had his kidney and tumor taken out March 15th, we went back to the doctor Friday and they couldn't start him on Votrient because his smaller incision isn't healing very well so they will wait 3 weeks. He did say the 5 nodules in his lungs have only grew a few millimeters thank goodness. I'll be thinking of and praying for you. It could always be worse for all of you/us out here.0 -
In your cheering section
Hi Mike,
I'm sorry to hear your news -- I know it must be very tough for you. Hang in there and get the best medical advice you can. Hopefully you will have that small tumour removed and have no further incidents ever! Thinking of you...0 -

I had to wait a few months after surgery to remove my kidney because of an open wound. I was very fortunate that the wait did not seem to affect the nodules in my lungs. After seven months of votrient there is no evidence of disease in my scans. I will repeat scans in June and probably remain on votrient indefinitely. Hope your husband can start it soon.0 -

Sounds like you have had great results from the Votrient. My husband has one small incision that has taken a bit longer to heal up so hopefully he will start his Votrient on May 4th. I'm praying for his lung nodules to disappear and from what you type it sounds like it is a very good possibility. My husband's nodules had only grew a few millimeters which according to the doctor that is good. Thanks for the information and I'll be thinking of you. Please keep let me know how your scans go in June.0
