BIG meeting at work today at noon... rumors of layoffs...

Please cross your fingers for me, Pinks. I carry the health insurance for the family. I'm scared about being able to pay for my meds, and my daughter's meds. She has asthma and allergies, including peanut. Tamoxifen is cheap, so that will be okay either way.

The LOGICAL side of my brain is "Don't worry... everything will work out. God won't let you down." The "Julie" side of my brain is "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH"

So, I could use a few crossed fingers, a few good prayers, a few Xanax... LOL Two years ago, I wouldn't have even worried a second about it. I would've been, oh well. Now I'm thinking of all my upcoming appointments, mammos, etc... and thinking WTH?? Okay, enough now. I'm going to get coffee and just go about my morning. I will update as soon as I get back. (If I still have computer access!! LOL)

    Thanks, Ladies! Counting
    Thanks, Ladies! Counting down...

We could get insurance from my husband's job if necessary... BUT, there's only 4 people in his office. The premium is HIGH and the copays and RX are ridiculous. It would be cheaper to pay for COBRA and keep the good coverage. AND, hub will have to start using the VA. See, that sounds like a plan.. I feel better already. LOL

    Well, my company is reducing
Well, my company is reducing the staff by 'less than 40' people... We will be notified this week by our supervisor if it's us. Nice. Don't know any more than I did earlier. SO.. the song 'Que Sera, Sera' has been going through my head all day. Whatever will be, will be. I have to trust that I will be where I need to be, with what I need to have.

Well they sure didn't ask ME how to do this...
JuJu, I'm so sorry they're putting you through this. I'm an HR Manager, and this is not not NOT the way to do group layoffs!

They call everybody together and tell all of you that you might or might not be laid off, and we'll let you know sometime this week?!? Gee, I'm sure that won't cause any stress or anxiety among all of you, and I'm sure you'll be so VERY productive this week!

I'll keep good thoughts for you that you'll still be gainfully employed by the end of the week -- feel free to PM me if I can help in any way.

    Best of Luck!
I personally think companies should be careful when letting people go, especially with a medical situation. Here hoping you are not affected by their decisions and you continue to work and keep your health insurance. They know your situation, right?

Wishing you the best of Luck!

    Thanks, Everyone. So now
Thanks, Everyone. So now we're into the next day... still no word. I'm angry now. I think it's so unprofessional and just plain sh!^^y! I think they should've met with us right after the big announcement to let us know. This is people's lives they are screwing with. No problem, just sit and wait every day to see if you are on the chopping block. Never mind the medical procedures that need to be scheduled while I'm still covered. Never mind the medicine I won't be able to afford if I don't have insurance. Everyone is whispering to each other, the restroom is a hot spot... LOL.

WHATEVER. That's my word for today. WHATEVER.

.. okay, productivity is down -- employee's are
updating their resumes and -- networking -- who's working? Not a very professional
    way of handling any layoff.

Yesterday your song of the day was ..'Que Sera, Sera'
    Today it is .. Whatever
Tomorrow it may be .. 'Take this job, and shove it'

Whatever the outcome, I hoping and praying for the best -- When one door closes,
    another one opens ==

Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.

As an HR professional I am
As an HR professional I am appalled at how the company is handleing it. Thank God for COBRA otherwise I would not have had insurance. My husband gripped at the premium until I showed him my spreadsheet of the cost versus our premium and then he never said another word. 18 rounds of chemo, double mastectomy, lymphadema specialst, gloves and sleeves, foobs and bras I hit 200k by the time we were done./

    .... any update ???
HR friends packing it up late yesterday, BIG cuts ... just my experience. However,
I would of thought HR would stick around to assure all the paperwork, benefit packages,
and facility is secure after layoff notices. hummmm

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Well, I found out at 9:15
Well, I found out at 9:15 that I'm safe. We lost six people in our department. It happened so fast, I didn't even see them go. I'm really relieved to still be here, though I'm sad about those that left. We were a pretty close group. I can breathe easy today. And stay out of the Ladies Room today.

    Thanks All for your support!
