Hi Jim,
The last post I
Hi Jim,
The last post I could find from Carol was on April 9th stating she would be having a PET scan the following day,(April 10th). From what I can tell she hasn't posted since. I know she was very scared and said she had cut herself off from all of her family and friends becasue she didn't want them to sit and watch her die.If you knowtice Jim, we get quite a few one time posters telling us their situation, but then never hear from them again. This may be the same situation with Carol, or she may be very busy with testing and doctor appointments. I guess all we can do is keep Carol in our prayers and hope she comes back and tells us how she is doing. It's hard not to worry, but we can't force people to stay connected with us. Your a good man to care and worry. I've done it many times since joining the group, as John has also. He gets very frustrated when folks just disappear after asking for advice and support. He's a good man also. I've learned to just help out when I can and when folks disaapear, I just pray they are ok....what else can we do?? I hope you are having a good weekend. I spent all day Saturday and a couple of hours today working outside in the beautiful sunny weather...pulling weeds and setting up our patio. Ahhhhh...warm weather at last! Take care my friend and just keep good positive thoughts for Carol...hopefully we will hear from her soon. Love...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0 -

AMEN to that !!!! I love to help people but it ticks me off when they do not come back. I am not saying thats what the situation is here at all. I have just seen it so many times in my 2 years here. It makes the people that jump in and help when they can wonder what happened. I have responded to so many and I am left with my finger up my butt. Again ,I am not saying its the same situation here. Carol was extremely upset. We can't blame her for that. Just hope she gets back to us soon. Everyone is wondering what she found out at the Drs. Like Sue was saying,We can not force people respond. Hi Jim, Sue, John
Hi Jim, Sue, John,
I was also very worried about her, hope she's doing alright. Happy to see that you were out gardening Sue, we had horrible weather this weekend over here in El Paso (gotta love the sand storms) lol...I miss San Diego. Well take care you guys (((Hugs all around)))
Sincerely,
Liz0 -
Thanks guys
Thanks everyone for responding .
Hopefully we'll hear from her.
Sue, glad you're enjoying the warm weather.
John, you might want to see a proctologist about that.. "ailment" .
Liz, hope you got all the sand out from between those smiley toes .
Interesting thing happened today. I opened my back door
and there was a luna moth right at the bottom corner of the doorway.
Even those its wings were tattered, it was still beautiful.
I put it in a baggy and took it to my brother in law's house so my niece's
kids could see it. I even bought them a dollar store maginifying glass .
The two older kids were watching a movie so the youngest, Journey (4 yrs) and I
took it outside, studied it for awhile. She (being at that bossy age) said,
"It can fly. Let's let it go". So, I let it crawl on my hand and finger and
offered it to Journey - she was afraid to touch it . Then, ragged wings and all,
it took off, flew around us for a little bit and then headed out on the wind
over the fence adjacent to the back porch.
It's interesting because I think I was about Journey's age the last time I saw one.
I know I was a child and just as amazed then. So that was the highlight of my day,
being a little kid again with Journey.
Hugs,

Hi Jim
All we can do is hope that all turns out okay for Carol. She did sound so scared and upset.
It's hard when someone reaches out to us for help and support and we try to be there for them, omly to never hear from them again. Hopefully Carol will get back in touch soon. Like Sue said, maybe she is all involved with testing and such. Lets hope so.
I have a question for you, what is a Luna moth? I have never heard of them. Are they only in your neck of the woods?
Take care

We have Luna moths all summer long here in NC. They are big bright green moths. They use them in that Lunesta commercial on TV.Vinny,I sat and watched a locust for about 2 hours work its way out of its shell once. As soon as it got out and started to crawl a big ole blue jay swooped down and grabbed it. It must have been watching too.Kind of pissed me off !!!0 -

Hi Jim and John
Thanks for the info on the Luna moth. I had never heard of them, I guess I'm not to old to learn about something new ( to me).
Jim, thanks for the links to the Luna moth. Unbelievable! So Beautiful. I wish I could see one up close and alive. Must be so special. They look magical, like they belong in a fairyland.
I know we do not have them out here on the west coast.
I will have to visit the south to try and find some...
Thanks guys for your info on the Luna moth.
Thinking of you

Hey Carol. I'd say you're far from stupid and let's not forget "vibrant".
I love that word .
There are lots of wonderful caring folks here Carol for you and your husband .
We're not doctors or psychologists but we all are on this journey and we do
understand how scary it is. I'm kind of the class clown in the bunch so I will
make you laugh when I can .
By the way, MD Anderson is a top notch cancer facility.
I lived in Houston for 20 years.
Hugs and welcome back,

Hi Carol,
I remember how scary it was for me when I went to find out what treatment I would be getting. I was a wreck, so believe me, I know how you are feeling. All I can give for advice is to just say that whatever you go with, the end result will be worth it! None of the treatment protocols are easy, but they are do-able. We are here for you and will help get you through the days ahead...be sure to come back and tell us what your protocol will be. Someone will have have gone through the same and will be able to let you know what to expect. Mine was CVP-R..every 21 days for 6 rounds. If this is what they prescribe for you, I can help guide you with what I experienced. Hang in there. Much love....Sue

Hi Carol
For me, fear is of the unknown. I have had many different treatments over a long period of years. I always feel the most fear before I start something new. Hopefully, you will feel less fear and stress after you have a plan and you get started with it.
I am so sorry that you are struggling. I too have had and still do, many days filled with struggle and fear. I just keep going, sometimes I am not sure how I do, but I do.
I think that I read you are getting treatment at MDA, I have been there twice for tx. It's a great place, but it does feel a bit like a factory line. My next tx will be at home. I need to be near family, way to hard to be so far away.
Also, you can send a private email by going to the left of the screen and hitting CSN Email. Then type in the person you want to send an email to and thats all you need to do.
I am trying to post a bit more these days, but have had a really hard time getting on the site. I keep trying, though..
Hang in there, we are all here for you and each other.
