Update: Tamoxifen and D&C
I saw her today for an EKG, labwork, and to answer any questions I might have about the procedure. My heart is in working order and the D&C is slated for next Thursday. Oh, a cyst that has been on my fallopian tube for over 11 years is also going to be removed. It's most likely nothing, but we thought it best due to my medical situation. Should this happen again, other measures will be discussed( ie... postmenopausal drugs, surgery). I am going to keep my fingers crossed that this is a one time deal as I don't want to deal with other major surgeries.
Fingers crossed, full speed ahead. Prayers and well wishes are welcome.
Ines

"My heart is in working order"
Well, I'm sure glad THAT'S been confirmed, because, you know, if your heart WEREN'T in working order, that would probably be a bad thing....:-)
Of course, we're hoping the procedure will go completely smoothly, and you'll have no pain and do just fine....JUST DON'T TELL ANYONE! I think this is the perfect excuse to take a long weekend in bed and make other people bring you Ben & Jerry's, put your favorite movies in the DVD player, and fluff your pillows for you!

Ines,
I just had that done
Ines,
I just had that done for the same reason the end of February (I've been on Tamoxifen since Aug 2010). It was one of the easiest recoveries I've ever had. I was really nervous before, not really sure what to expect. I had a nice little nap, went home and fell asleep again from the drugs, and it wasn't as bad as my regular periods. In fact, I hardly bled after. I did have a little discomfort from the gas, but that didn't last too long. The hardest part is the wait afterwards to hear that everything was okay.
I will certainly cross my fingers, eyes, legs, etc... and send prayers and good 'juju' your way!
Take care! Let us know how you do!!0 -

That being said... I may have played it up a little... perhaps indicating to the other members of my household that I was tired and sore, and could not get out of bed.. (Traci is on to something...)0 -
Spring Cleaning... the hard way
Thanks for your support. I am glad to hear it's not a complicated procedure. I know it's important to get it taken care of. The week will fly by and I will be done with it before too long. Mark, my husband, will be going with me. Lauren, my daughter, will be busy with school. I am going to make a big pot of soup that will carry over for several days. Better crack open some cookbooks to get some ideas.
Will keep you posted on how I am doing.
Hugs,
Ines
PS Traci... Yes, my ticker is Strong! It has always been, no problems there! Onward and Forward!0 -

My heart is heavy at the thought of you having a 'dust and clean' or D & C -- Hoping
your procedure is quick, productive and pain-less.
We will rally the Sisterhood (and Robert) and get our Pink Bus gassed and ready to
roll in support of your procedure.
Prayers, positive thoughts and hugs coming your way, dear Ines.
