Scary midweek

Wednesday evening, had finished dinner and went to the computer to do some stuff I am working on, all of a sudden it felt like my heart was jumping out of my heart, in 2008 had an emergency quadruple bypass and a minor stroke. Have been doing so well with the cancer and told my doc I feel better now than at any time since 2007. I checked my pulse and my heart was skipping beats, beating early and racing. My son (in school to be a nurse) took my blood pressure and listened with his stethoscope and then took me to the ER.EKG was abnormal but not terrible, thought I may have A Fib, was there for six hours, conclusion was that I had suffered an anxiety attack and the heart was just palpitations and benign, I was told to up my blood pressure medicine, seems that after my operation the surgeon identified that I had some irregular heartbeats and the med I was taking was for that. Fine now but realized I need to not forget the old ticker, cancer is not the only thing I had.

Oh man...that WOULD be so scary!
...especially since you've had bypass surgery already. I'm so glad you're ok. Ya know, I'm sitting here thinking that...now that I've been dx'd with cancer I'd be thinking heart attack sure as hell...whereas only a few months ago, a heart beating out of my chest I probably would have thought "panic attack, I"ll be fine".
Glad also, that you went to the ER and had it checked out...and yes, you do have to remember your ticker...

you are not alone
I've kind of had that thought too. I had a stent six years ago. No symptoms, but it has occured to me that would be quite an injustice, to slog my way through this cancer therapy and then fall flat on my face with another problem.
