This time last year
I had a sore right hip for a little over a month, but it's better now. It improved not too long after DRE and scope so maybe that loosened something - lol! I still get stiff if I sit too long.
For those of you starting your journey and in treatment now, you can do it. There were times I wondered if I would make it, but we all did! I almost didn't finish the last five radiation treatments because I was burned and so miserable. Healing quickly begins!
Wishing everyone continued healing!!!

Congratulations Ann!
I'm so happy that you have reached the important 1-year milestone! That's great and here's hoping that NED is always in your corner!
As for soreness in the hips, a good stretching program may help, along with walking. Swimming would be excellent exercise for stiff hips if you have access to a pool. I think the main thing is to just keep moving. I, too, stiffen up when I sit too long.
Thanks for the encouraging words to any newbies here. What you say really is true. This treatment is not fun, but everyone can do it with a little will and determination. And the healing really does happen very quickly!
Take care!0 -

I try to keep moving. I garden and have recently started raising chickens - lol! I have six. Yes, I hope NED is always in my corner! I see the oncologist next month; also have lab work and a scan.

That is awesome!! Congratulations to you! Like you the last 3 were treatments were hard for me to face but I just hunkered down and made it through. Has been 3 days with no treatments and feeling a little better but the burns are stubborn hehe.
Enjoy this year and do some fun things!

Congrats on completing your treatments! Whew!! Happy healing!
I couldn't use silvadene because I'm allergic to sulfa. The wound care nurse prescribed xenaderm which helped.
I can still remember asking the radiation nurse when I would turn red and she said I wouldn't - what a joke! Actually, it was more of a dark purple...0 -

Congratulations!
So good to hear. I understand about the pain and stiffness but I keep trying to push through it but also try to rest as rest is as effective as pain medication 90% of the time. We have to stay strong for ourselves, our family members and each other. Thanks for your post.
Happy Easter and/or spring holiday!

Thanks, Sandy! I agree that rest is very important. I need to pace myself more. I have a tendency to do too much and then am pooped afterward. Naps are sooooo nice!!!!0
