I am so glad your numbers are dopping don't worry about rejoice to early when numbers drop there is always a reason to rejoice. I will be praying that you petscan goes well. I have my catscan next tuesday and the a week later I will have my petscan so I am hoping that in two weeks I will know if the cancer is back. I am so praying it is not but if it is I will fight it with all I have again.
Love, Hugs, and Prayers

Hello Karen
I am so pleased to hear your numbers have dropped. We are in similar positions as my numbers were 1370 after I finished Topotecan. I am now due to have Doxorubicin (Doxil in the States) for the first time. Just before I had my chemo I had a blood test and I asked about my numbers. They are now 1096 and have dropped 300 in a month WITHOUT CHEMO.
What is that all about????????????
So we both have some positive news and I hope your pet scan is good too.

hi tina.....my oncologist told me that the higher the ca125 # is, the bigger the swing can be so maybe it's not unusual to have that big of a drop...who knows?? im glad to hear that you will be getting doxil....it is apparently scarcer than hen's teeth .. i will be switching to a new doctor next week who has put in an appeal to my ins. co to put me at the top of the list for doxil when and if it becomes available here....he's also putting me in the queue for a clinical trial. all this will be moot if the gemzar i'm on is indeed working. if that's the case, i will just continue on the gemzar until it decides to stop working for me. i'm holding my breath for this friday's appt to get the petscan results....i hope what he has to say backs up the ca125 number. i always watch for your posts...we certainly have a lot of the same issues....all the best...karen xoxoxo0 -

I too am switching to a new doctor. I have completely lost faith in my oncologist. the first thing was he never noticed I had ascites a few months ago (he never examines me when ever I g to clinic) I requested an ultra sound and they discovered ascites and I ended up having nearly 3 litres drained. The second thing was he prescribed caelyx (The UK version of Doxil) for me last week and never knew the manufacturers had stopped making it. I found out when the pharmacy at my hospital got the prescription on the day of my chemo. I have since started on a chemo similar called Doxorubicin which I believe has an element of doxil in it (not too sure though)
Keep strong and like you I always look out for your posts. Love Tina xxx0 -
