They should spend money researching what prevents OVCA.

So how tall is everyone? Mom was exactly 5 ft.
I'm 5'1", 105 lbs, and never had children (which I believe is considered a risk factor).

I'm 5'1". I had 4 children, and cancer doesn't run in the family at all.
Just under 5 ft tall, not obese, 4 children (nursed 2 of them) and no family history.
Next theory.....

i'm 5'3"...3 miscarriages and 3 full term...breastfed them...tubal ligation...brac 1 $ 2 negative .. no family history of cancer ... all of which are supposed to keep you from GETTING this rotten disease....go figure0 -
Wish they would concentrate more on a cure
I am 5'3, had tubes tied, had 2 children. Less of a chance of getting this disease if you had children and a tubal. HaHa! That just sounds crazy that your height would have something to do with it.0 -

Mom had 3 miscarriages and 5 children, breastfed all of us, also had a tubal ligation. The only "risk" factor she had was her only sibling died of stomach cancer when he was 16 and mom was 12. Also Mom was BRCA negative and the OVCA had no genetic component to it. Mom was not overweight, ate extremely well and was incredibly active.
I have often wondered though if the depression she had suffered for years off and on had something to do with it.0 -

5' 5 1/2" although I am not sure I still have the 1/2" since we are supposed to shrink as we age. I have one child (31) who I had at almost 33 years of age. I mentioned this to my onc at my first visit and she said it wasn't a reason. I feel nobody really knows which is why this disease and all cancers are so insidious.
I agree: "FIND A CURE!"

Five foot three inches for me. The only risk factor that I am aware of is that my mom had breast cancer. My wish list includes: #1 - a cure!, #2 - new more effective treatments, and #3 - of course, a reliable test that would enable earlier detection.

I'm 5' 5 1/2" -- I thought I was just average height. What's the point of this research finding anyway?
I have read that ovarian cancer has also been linked to a low vitamin D level--at least that is something that I can work on! Hahahahaha!0 -
I am 5' 9 1/4" - you are all
I am 5' 9 1/4" - you are all quite short lol!
Had 2 children, breast fed both, not overweight, fit, active, (BRAC1+ tho with family history of ovca).... I think they have absolutely no idea why some women get ovca .... You are right Carolen MORE MONEY should be spent researching what PREVENTS this horrible disease....0
