needs explaination for pet scan results..
And the pet scan result shows after 4cycle of abvd..
« focal fdg hypermetabolism in seen in a hypodense lesion(1cm) at anterior mediastinal mass (measuring 3.2x2.1cm). The rest of this mass and another soft tissue mass in the aortic arch area measuring 5.3x4.3cm seen on ct do not show fdg hypermetabolism. Brown fat fdg distribution seen at neck and superclavicular region. Fdg metabolism elsewhere is physiological. In particular small pleural base lung nodule at upper lobe seen on ct does not show fdg metabolism...and the final results: scan evidence of active lymphoma in the mediastinum.
Anyone can you explain to me the report please..

bad to do
Hey, I do the same thing, get my scan results, read them and then go on the computer to try to figure out what it all means. Wait for your appt. with your Oncologist to go over it. With that being said, your mass has responded to treatment by shrinking to 3.2 x 2.1, but there still is cancer left in that one area. Which is quite normal if you are still not done your chemo treatments. It took me all eight cycles before all but one spot remained. Good luck Vinny0 -
