Hi Denise,
Glad you are home! Being in our own surroundings is always a comfort. Rest and take care of yourself and give your body time to heal. Drink lots and lots of fluids...my doctor said this was very important after getting treatments. Keep us informed how your doing.
Much love...Sue (FNHL-2-3a-6/10)0 -

The Neulasta shot isn't a big deal kind of like a burning bee sting but brief.
Don't be surprised if you have some aches/pains a few days after the shot.
For me it was like having aches from the flu (maybe a little worse) and it
sort of throbbed from my lower back to my chest that lasted for about 3 days.
Neulasta works to build the white blood cell count which reduces the risk
of infection after chemotherapy. When I had the pain, I just thought of it
as "Oh, my white blood cells are being boosted and that's a good thing" .
Check with your nurse/doctor but you should be able to take something for
the pain if you experience it (like tylenol). Hopefully you'll be lucky
and not experience this !.
If and when your white cell counts are down, it's important to avoid crowds,
only eat well cooked foods (nothing raw including salads) and don't be around
someone sick. They should be monitoring your blood counts and let you know
if you have low white cell counts (netropenic/neutropenia). They will probably
have you monitor your temperature and other things and call in or come to the
hospital if it rises above a certain point (100.4 in my case).
I had to go back into the hospital once because of this and they gave me IV antibiotics for a few days. I hated having to go back to the hospital as I'd only been out for a short time but the nurse explained it well: "Better to be here for a few days getting antibiotics than a few weeks because of a major infecton that is out of control and life threatening".
I'm sure they will tell you all of this and I'm not meaning to scare you.
I was just sharing my experience with you.
♥ There's no place like home ♥
Good luck, big hugs and keep us updated.

Home Sweet Home
Dear Denise,
I am so glad the Rice treatment went well, and not as bad as expected.
I know how you feel about being home. I still remember after being in the hospital for
3 weeks back in 2009, the wonderful feeling finally arriving home.
Enjoy your home and get plenty of rest. Love Maggie0 -

Denise,
Its amazing of how many people refer to "The Wizard of Oz" when they realize how great it is to be home. I refer to it at times myself in one way or the other. So glad you are home. John
John, I think we can all relate to the scarecrow after chemo ♥ ☺☺.
If I only had a Brain
(I obviously have nothing better to do today - RIGHT - well if I can
find that "To Do" list I made ♥).
(Scarecrow)
I could wile away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain
I'd unravel any riddle
For any individ'le
In trouble or in pain
(Dorothy)
With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
You could be another Lincoln
If you only had a brain
(Scarecrow)
Oh, I would tell you why
The ocean's near the shore
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more
I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry

Jim,
You could count the flowers on the wall if that don't bother you at all. Smoke cigarettes and watch Captain kangaroo if you have nothing to do. (Statler Brothers hit of the 60's) What the heck,it is something to do. LOL....John0 -
Hi Denise
Hi Denise, Thank God you're back home! Glad to hear that the treatment wasn't that harsh. Take care sweetie and like everybody else already said take it easy and rest, rest, rest!
