3 Week Break!!!
Today I went for my first Taxol drip after 4 cycle of A/C. I had such a rough time with A/C. In the past few weeks alone, I have had chest pain, shortness of breath, severe hand pain, hot flashes, and of course the nausea. My doc wants my body to recover before resuming treatment. I know it delays the inevitable, but I WILL TAKE IT!!!! I haven't been able to sleep so I am really looking forward to many nights of rest. What is even better, my sister is treating me to a few days in the Poconos at the beginning of April. I was really afraid that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. Now I can enjoy it.
One more wonderful story before signing off:
Every year around this time, my middle school at which I teach has an event called the Ultimate Challenge. Each team of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders compete to see who has the best cheer, most creative banner, best team spirit, and obstacle course time. My substitute teacher contacted me to let me know that my 8th grade students changed their team color to pink this year in honor of me. They also made a banner and a cheer in my honor as well: "Fight today for Mrs. A!" When she told me this I became so emotional and extremely grateful and honored. What great kids. They have been practicing all week; the event takes place on the 30th. I am going to surprise them with a visit to see the results of their hard work since I will be feeling good due to this 3 week break!
Take care, pink ladies!
