Cancer went to bones-back,leg
My sister had pains in her back and leg while going through chemo, the doctor thought it was arthritis, but she was in very bad pain. He gave her morfene, but the dose did not help. He put her into the hospital, and gave her another MRI,two were given so far. And results was she has back and leg bone cancer. She is 66 years old, could someone tell me if the bone cancer in her back and leg will die from chemo, and radiation and could it stay in her bones with no problems? Her tumor in her lung is stable, and the the minute cancer in her brain went to her skull, and died.So the problem now, is bone cancer. Could someone please help me to understand what the outcome will be,I love my sister and I'm worried.

Hi Stardust i know this is an old post but im wondering how your sister is doing ? my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and started chemo on Mar.5. He was saying he had bad back pain but on the weekend he couldn't move so we took him to emerg. They did a ct scan and mri on his back and found a tumor on his spine which is causing pain in the spine to a point that he can't move, flat on his back. What treatment has your sister had ? worried sick for my dad, can't bear to see him in such pain.0 -

Hi Chantal how is your mother doing ? My dad's still in the hospital. He's finished his radiation as of last monday and although he's able to move a bit more still not able to walk. The doctors were saying it sometime takes time for the the radiation to take effect.I'm getting worried that the pain wont get better. When was your mom diagnosed and what has the course of her treatment been like ?0 -

my mom was diagnosed in november but has started to have pain over a year ago and we could not figure it out she tried everything in the book. reiki, accupuncture, massage, natural remedies and pharmacuticals. she never had lung pain or any cough, she quit smoking over 10 years ago now. we took her to the hospital because one night her pain was too unbearable and a few weeks later she was diagnosed with two tumors on her back. it was only that when they tried a pain mediaction on her that she got an allergic reaction to it and they went to see if there was still fluid in her lungs and sure enough there was a tumor on her lung. my stepmother is a colon cancer survivor so it didnt phase me at first i had alot of hope for my mom to get through this.
mom is getting worse and worse every day honestly. we just had to take her back to the hospital for the 3rd time now because she has pnuemonia. my mom started radiation right away right as she found out. radiation didnt help unfortunately. they cant surgically remove her tumours because the one on her lung is too close to the heart. we started chemo interveniusly and after about two weeks she got incredibly ill. couldnt eat or drink anything she almost killed herself just by that! her pain is getting worse. it has its days some days but all in all its worse. that to me is the worst i wish i could do something and help her but i know all i can do is just be there for her. she had to get a blood transfusion because of the chemo aswell. resulted in very high blood pressure and high heart rate. i sat down with our doctor and she told me there is nothing we can do at this point, but my mom doesnt want to quit. so instead of intervenus chemo they recommended tablets because its not so harsh. but yet again she was on it for 2 weeks then started to get sick and has pneomnia which is something you DONT want when you have lung cancer. shes now on oxygen 24/7 and requires a hospital bed at home. im going to have ot give her injections 3 times daily for her blood pressure. i dont know what there plans are for chemo again or if there going to be doing it again. i wish all the best to your dad and you. it has been a very hard road the past few months my heart just aches for her. just be positive, i hope your father is in very good spirits. my mom has been so positive. i have my days where i just cant go and see her because it is not fair for her to see me so upset for something she cannot control. appreciate every moment, i have no idea how bad your dads is or if they caught it at a good time. no one can know if you get good results r not. just take time for yourself too that is very important. i know ive needed it. good luck and keep in touch. id love to hear your story0
