I finished chemo

I am so happy! I can't believe it is finally over. These last 5 months have been the hardest of my life. I didn't think I could do that last taxotere but I did, with a reduced dose. I have a CT on April 9 and then my followup on April 16. Another surgery at the end of april to repair a hernia and do a second look. How long does it take to start feeling better after chemo? I am so looking forward to regaining my strength. I will be ecstatic when my taste goes back to normal and my eyes quit watering all the time. I am so ready to move on. I feel like my life has revolved around cancer and chemo for the past 5 months. Our family is going on a disney cruise in august and I can't wait!

I can feel your joy and happiness through the email and I'm so happy for you too. Each person recovers differently but I myself had six chemo treatments, three weeks apart, and after the last one, I was ready to go back to work on a part-time basis within about three or four weeks. I was still a little tired but was ready to work full-time two or three weeks after that. I was careful not to push myself and I'm lucky to work with a group of very supportive people who made sure I didn't overdo it.
I hope you have a fantastic time on the cruise! It's so nice to have something good to look forward to!

Happy days
I'm so happy for you! It takes awhile to get back to yourself after chemo, but having that cruise to look forward to will help. I think the trick is to push yourself each day to regain strength without overdoing. That's not an easy thing, but hey, you want to feel strong as soon as possible.

Congrats
Congratulations.....I just finished my 8 rounds a few weeks ago. I was actually feeling good at the time and in about 2 weeks was feeling really good. Hair started growing back right away. Am on Avastin now and don't have any side effects. I work out just about every day (take one day off a week) and try to push myself to do just a little bit more every day. Good luck and happy cruising!0 -
done
Good for you, you are DONE!! I cant imagine how that will feel since I have only just begun. Please let us know about your follow ups and ct scan. Let us know, or me know of the schedule and what to expect when it is over and how much time it actually took to feel normal again. I have heard you feel good pretty fast but can take a year to feel healthy. Good luck and congrats0
