Scan Prayers and update

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
I wanted to give you guys and update on my dad. He just finished 9 rounds of chemo for his reoccurance of tongue cancer. He has done really great just a few issues with low blood counts. His oncologist feels like the cancer is gone again. His plan is to do a CT scan this coming Tuesday and then if it looks good they will give him a little break. After that he will continue on some type of low dose chemo.

Please send a few prayers that the scan looks good so dad can get a little break. We will get the results on April 2nd so I will let you know.

March 6th was 2 years that dad has been fighting this horrible beast.

    Hey Kathy,

    what have they been using for chemo? And if he goes to long term maintenance, what do they plan on using? Thanks. This would be really great for him. There was a poster who was here briefly a few weeks ago that said he'd been on a maintenance form of chemo for a few years without recurrance. That was pretty awesome stuff.

    Pat,

    They have been using carbo and taxol (that is what they call it) and they were using it for a reoccurance. I will find out what they plan to continue with next Monday and will post an update.
