2 Surgeries, 3-day ICU, Ultimately Good News
What a bad couple of weeks. Went into surgery March 6 - everything seemed good. Came home Thursday and started bleeding out into my chest Friday night. Andie rushed me to ER and my hemoglobin was 4 - should be 12 - 14. More surgery to find bleeder but what they thought would be a bleeder turned out to be the result of too much blood thinner and I was bleeding everywhere. After 2 1/2 hours they told Andie and my children I was in ICU and thought I might be ok. Scary scary scary! The hematologist wanted me to try a lesser blood thinner and I refused - certainly not at this time. I do have a mutant clotting gene so we may talk about it later. While in ICU, the news came back from the mastectomy that all margins were wide and clear. What a relief!!! I am so grateful. I thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. I totally believe in that energy.
Love,
Pam

Wow Pam!
That is scary! Glad they got the bleeding under control. Never underestimate the power of the pinks! I remember hearing that God hears when 2 or more gather in his name, well that same positive energy is multiplied over and over again with the power of the pinks!
Clear margins! Love hearing that! Wish all the surgeons would go another 1/2 inch or so outside the planned margins, it would save so many from having to go through it all again.
Hugs and good healing!

I'm so happy for you, Pam. I know it had to be scarey (in addition to all the scarey stuff prior to this surgery) but all's well that ends well - you're OK! Clear wide margins. Bleeding stopped. Home again.

My plastic surgeon who closed me up the first time and had to go back the second time said that hematologists know a lot about blood but nothing about surgical bleeding. I guess they did give me too much - at least for me. But I'm on the mend and so glad to be home. Thanks for all the love and support. I just love all my pink sisters!!!!!0 -

That is terrible that they gave you too much. I hope someone lets that hematologist know what a mistake he made.
You just keep healing and taking it easy.
