On my way to a cardio/pump class, which is aerobics mixed with light weights. Love this class as it is not only great exercise, but a wonderful release for tension, etc as we box toward the mirror with our weights, then do ninja-type kicks. I follow this class with a hatha yoga class------------the best of both exercise worlds....body and spirit.
excellent tommy.
i hope your body takes the exercise better than mine.
i still can hardly move my arms after monday double yoga and weights.
its a great combo. the breathing for nitric oxide and getting the lymph flowing.
yoga is the best.

i weighed myself tonight 91 kg
i think i am actually gaining muscle.
which is really good that i don't have the wasting condition that onc was really worried about.
any one else exercising ?
sweat is good. gets lymph moving, lows blood glucose, oxygenates the blood.
if you feeling really bad maybe you can try just some deep breathing.
just a suggestion.

We moved to the mountains. We live now at 1800m (5000') elevation. My neighbor brought over a sweet bread loaf, and my wife's dog took off out the front door. He ran a little over a half mile down the road. I took after him as best I could. My dog (beagle) chasing me and then passing me to catch up to the Pek-a-mut. (A Pekingnese hound mix) I finally caught the Pek-a-mut while he was relieving himself on a tree. My new neighbor saw me running and came driving after me. lol He found me carrying the two dogs walking home, and offered me a ride home. What a great new neighbor! My exercise for the weekend!

don't over do it, but don't under do it either.
see my post about your oxy issues.
Don't fall into the same trap i did, before exercise i now have a juice and pea protein shake. i don't want to burn muscle while exercising.
of course walking, movement is good for us, the fresh air, the sun.
plenty of healthy water also is a good idea, if i sweat heaps now i make sure i replace those lost minerals and electrolyetes.
now tonight i did another proper head stand at yoga, not bad for a 45 year yoga virgin a few months ago. glad i have lost that 50kgs, otherwise i would have broken my neck.
anyone else exercising ?
its just great fun! you should see the beautiful woman at the yoga. but i only go for the exercise. thats all seriously.

dear pepe,
to build muscle, not just keep it i have really focused on gut and digestion.
its worked i am gaining muscle, just a little, swapping fat with toxins for new muscle.
so i am having lots of protein, mainly raw mixed nuts, broccoli, a little fish and organic chicken and kangeroo.
now i always have media clear plus , details on iherb with every juice. especially in the morning before yoga, after the hard core 90 minute class i come home and have free range organic eggs, mushrooms etc etc.
i was told to ensure i have good quality protein in my diet before and after exercise. its working for me so far.
alas walking is catabolic, basically consumes muslces.
the only exercise to build muscle is anabolic ie resistance exercises. that where my focus has been. i have been off the treadmill for months now in favour of sports based yoga, that leaves all your muscles aching. we even started today on one armed pushups.
so my onc was worried about my weight loss, she is not so worried now. focusing on digestion, and diet has given me some results. so even if the cea is a problem, its nice to have success on the other areas, ie gaining muscle, good bloods, etc etc.
you probably know this sort of stuff. but my functional gp spot i was burning muscle protein in the 24 hour complete urine test. i think creatinin was the marker that signaled i was burning muscle. i stopped the treadmill in favour of weighting as soon as i had this explained and the tests confirmed it.
i did the hardest yoga today, a really good workout, lots of sweat and aching muscles. i might only be getting 3 x 90 workouts a week, but that allows recovery.
i did a couple of straigh arm hand stands today. a first for me. just some thoughts about keeping the weight on. medi clear plus is an amazing rice protein thats so easy to add to an organic vegetable juice.
just a few ideas and reflections on what has worked for me, good luck.

Hey Pete,
I continue to swim about 5 days a week...I am not a Olympian or anything but I give it my best. I started juicing about 2 weeks ago and am interested in what amazing rice protein that you add to your juice? Keep up the good work in Yoga. After my hip fracture heals completely, I hope to add more exercise to my routine. I love walking, bike riding...maybe will even try Yoga at the YMCA.

hi pepe and all
i love doing the new post every few months. over 500 replies this message has popped to the top of this list. it would be wonderful if we were the healthiest group of crc's, if your not well enough to exercise your body maybe you could checkout the meditation post so you could exercise your mind by doing nothing.
our new crc's probably don't get this advice from onc, or nurses, or hospital or csn or anywhere.
they get it here if they are looking for support, thanks heaps mate, we are doing something great for ourselves and we may help our friends as well.
off to the gym for weight training, did a walk this morning with friends and will try to get in 50 laps in the pool this arvo.
the treadmill is being phased out due to yoga and swimming at the moment. i want to keep the weights going.
hugs,
pete
Let me tell you since my wife left a month ago, I never realized how much extra exercise I would get both mentally and physically. First time i've ever walked around work with a food shopping list in my top pocket. Laundry, constant cleaning and now the early summer has brought on outdoor needs and I have 50 acres to take care of. Honestly, sometimes I forget I have this illness. I know there are a lot of woman on here either fighting the fight or taking care of someone, my hat goes off to you. I never realized your lives were so complicated. It's 11:34 at night and i'm sitting here deciding if i'm going to change the brakes on my truck tomorrow or iron the 15 work shirts sitting in a laundry basket. Well church is at 9:30 tomorrow maybe i'll be able to prioritize my day, A nice walk in the country sounds good for tomorrow, i'll be thinking and praying for all my new friends on this forum. good nite!!! chuck0 -

i tip i learned yesterday, was do it first thing in the day.
my health is my top priority.
If your to ill to exercise, maybe try so breathing exercises, i put this link on my blog today. i do this at yoga, even our breathing can be anti cancer.

yoga, i cannot wait.
anyone else exercising ?
did you see the acs advice about diet and exercise ?
regardless have a great evening, i am.
the yoga class was pretty tough because i have a strained leg where i fell through a bridge on the health retreat and given i did not do as much self practice as i should have.
the other thing i tried tonight is the steam room after yoga for 10 minutes, then cold shower, do this 3 times. its supposed to stimulate your immune system.
