Tightness in the Chest and Fatique - With No Clear Explanation
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, I had become severely dehydrated and had to go into the docs office for IV drip of saline and anti-nausea meds. I was still not feeling well last night which is when the other symptoms started. By this morning, I was concerned enough to call the docs. They suspected a blood clot, especially since my blood pressure was low and I had a dull pain on the right side of my chest when breathing. A CAT scan later, it was clear that I did not have a blood clot or even pneumonia. They have no idea why I was/am feeling this way.
Have any of you ever experienced anything similar to this? This is the worst that I have felt thus far, and what is even more frustrating is that there isn't a clear explanation for why I am feeling like this. I feel like I wasted everyone's time today - people driving me to the docs office, watching my kids, and helping out when nothing was wrong.

Steroids?
Are you on any steroids? Long story but I am being weaned off of Decadron right now....been taking it to reduce swelling in the brain as I had to have 10 radiation treatments to my 3 brain spots....well I absolutely crashed last week.....trouble breathing, barely able to function for two days....saw my oncologist Monday.... I had about 7 side effects due to Decadron.....thrush in my mouth, chest infection, trouble breathing...etc....this is a powerful drug......just wondering if you're on it....
Feel better,
Hugs, Nancy0 -
You and I are at the sameMegan M said:I don't really know what it
I don't really know what it would be, but, most of your symptoms do sound like symptoms of dehydration.
I hope you get some answers and feel better.
You and I are at the same point in treatment, just finishing A/C. For me, each round was progressively worse in various ways. Did they check your White and Red cell count? They had me skip the Neulasta after #4 A/C, since my white count was 45 before #4. Monday, this week it was 1.3 and RBC was 8.8. So, I could not start Taxol Tuesday. Anyway, I think the low RBC's is why I get so tired and winded after much activity. Hope you get your issues sorted out quickly, so you can move on.

Hi
I would see your oncologist asap. Extreme fatigue can be many things but understand if could point to an ovary problem, thyroid etc, especially as you have some pain on the right side. You sound very concerned so would if you can ask for an MRI just to put your mind at rest. There are some really strange viruses these days also, come and go and leaving you thinking, what was that all about. Good Luck0 -

Hi, Angie,
My counts were down somewhat, but not too bad since I had the Neulasta shot last Thursday. Today is a little better, but being in the house alone with my kids feeling this way is not a great feeling. I don't ever want them to see me in distress.0 -

virus
Maybe you are coming down with a virus, it is going around this time of the year. I also had a "bug" and I felt just like you. No strengh, just laying around. My heart was beating like crazzy when I just did normal house chores, like making the beds and the dishes. I just had seen my onco and my bloodworks were just fine. I am doing better now and my appetite is back again. Just to be sure in your case do what the pink sisters say, call asap your doctor and ask for more tasks and ask him if it could be "only" a bug.
Much love and caring your way,
Ilona0
