See small blood in urine after period

Hey all,
I had my laposcopic kidney removal on feb 22, just about three weeks ago. The cancer was confined in one kidney and the surgeon told me there is no treatment necessary just some followups. And, I have my period started 1.5 weeks after my surgery. The period was normal, but it happened about 10 days earlier for my regular cycle. The period has finished about two days ago, but I still see some blood flakes in my urine now and then. Do I need to concern?

I found this blog is so helpful, does anyone has this kind of experience? Please share.

Thank you so much.

I think that could just be part of the healing.I had some blood a week later and was told that was normal due to the surgery and was part of the healing process.

    Part of the healing
Hi, thanks for the reply. It's good to know that this might be part of the healing, did you have to go for urinalysis to determine it at first?

    Thanks

    Blood in urine
I would call the docs office just to be sure. It could be anything (healing or a UTI) but only your doctor can give you the best advice. I personally don't recall passing blood in my urine after surgery.

    Good advice
Thanks for the advice. I will make a call the doctor office and check it out for sure. Thanks again.

    HiLimlife50,
My surgeon has no idea why it happened, he kept on telling me, everything went well during surgery and the other kidney is functioning well as we speak. May I know, do you recall the blood is small amount and are they red? How long was it last?

Just curious, but I think I am thinking to get for other doctor opinion.

    Thanks,

    Lot of blood
I had a lot of blood in my urine a week after surgery, called urologist and was told that it was part of the healing process, but also was told if I could not urinate to get to the hospital for immediate medical help, but that was not necessary as my symptoms cleared up within 48 hours. Also just to let you know I also had a small low grade tumor removed from my bladder. One more thing I did bleed what I considered to be a little excessive amount of blood at the time,so Goidelic luck and I hope you are already feeling better.

    Gaelic
OK Limelife, curiosity is just too strong for me to resist asking: Do you have Celtic origins, or does Beingbless, or maybe both? Whatever the answer I hope each of you is keeping well.

    Hi Texas
Hey I always feel honored to have Texas respond to my post even though you are on a different brain wave length than myself,as far as your first question, since I have no clue what you mean the answer is no as for the second part I have been doing great and I hope you are fine also.

    Hi all,
I appreciate all the response. I have seeked for the 2nd opinion for my case, the urologist said it is part of the healing for some people or it could be from my period. I am a bit skeptical, but I have been watching my urine very closely, they are clear for couple days, and I do not have any pain/burning or urine frequently at all.

As all probably can understand, I have been stress out .....Just pray for a good recovery! And able to enjoy my gardening during the spring....:-).

    Goidelic luck
Limelife, I'm pleased to hear you're doing well and long may that continue.

I thought you were maybe having a fun dig at me after my discussion with Lisa about "the luck of the Irish". I'm a Celt (family names all Welsh and Irish, although the last few hundred years have been in England, mostly London area). "Goidelic" means nothing to me except as meaning Gaelic - the celtic branch of the Indo-European language group, so involving Scotland, where I live, Wales and Ireland. So, I thought you were craftily wishing Beingbless something like 'the luck of the Irish' with a bit of a joke at my expense.

I suppose I must have got the wrong end of the stick. What did "Goidelic luck" mean in your post? [I'll understand if you want to have a bit of fun now and keep me guessing, but could you really do that to a poor old man?!]

It sounds as though Limelife was right and you don't have too much to worry about but it's hard not to worry isn't it? Enjoy your gardening - Spring is nearly here.
