O.T. Monday annual colonscopy

This will be my 22nd colonscopy-it doesn't get any better! You'd think by now they'd come up with better prep! Yeah right...

At least new dr (same practice) does them on Monday so can prep on weekend and not have to take day prior off as well..

    after my terrible prep ( I
    after my terrible prep ( I get very sick each time) HOT, cold, vomit, dry heaves etc.-I went in got IV , knocked out and I was not totally cleaned out...

    I said PLease take me tomorrow AM since I am half way there can finish prep tonight. I was told tight schedule NO ROOM to fit you in. I begged..they said MAYBE Thurs. I walked to the office down all but person for appt was busy said to call when I GOT HOME..before I celled them I got message saying be here tomorrow 6:45 AM...ONLY PROBLEM is I stopped and ate on way home! I was not happy camper...so in 2 wks I must do this all over again.

    The prep for a colonoscopy is absolutely barbaric. How awful you have to do it again and again. I remember thinking "what's the big deal? It's only one day/night?" And then I had to have a colonoscopy . . . my heart goes out for you, Denise.

    So sorry that this happened.
    So sorry that this happened. I will be sending good thoughts that the next one goes well with both the prep and the test in two weeks.

    Thanks all I hope the MAGIC
    Thanks all I hope the MAGIC PILLS work..and it they do...I am going to be upset never offered to me..I get deathly ill for 24-hrs...hot, cold crawl out of my skin..I know I overly have bad time..I bring blanket to appt curl up on love seat while waiting my turn. AS soon as I get IV I am good to go..test not bad at all..

    Post hysterectomy in May total impactment-the terrible fix in ER was worse then having my 2 kids! Never knew how great it felt to be totally cleaned out...

    NOT TO OVER share...

    but it was terrible...

    Thanks for kinds words...I know prep is nothing compared to chemo etc..I am just venting and just the fact they said NO way tomorrow and I ate...really annoyed me...

    oh well 2 more weeks it will be over...

    Denise, what are they giving
    Denise, what are they giving you for a prep? I had to take 2 dulcalax tabs at 3pm and then at 5pm mix miralax with gatoraid. The Miralax is totally tasteless and not that bad in the cramping and elimination stuff. I only finished half the drink because I was sick of the gatorade, but still cleaned out. So much better than what they used to use.

    I got info yesterday
    I got info yesterday something like Sessna (I have to look again) 24 pills...12 at noon and 12 at 3 or so..if not clear when go to bathroom then duculax! I take about 12 pills on normal day so I can handle double. I know in my head but even taste less...i get so nausua prior to prep even water makes me want to vomit. I suck on icecubes only ...I have terrible bime and have each and every time for 20 yrs...so I hope this will work..I feel like I want to crawl OUT OF MY skin...if that makes sense to you!

    2nd prep in 2 wks
    2nd prep in 2 wks unsuccesful...I took 11 of 12 pills at noon...and vomited them up...was supposed to take 12 more at 7 pm..

    I get so sick..hot,cold, vomit, heart feels like jumping out of chest. By 8 pm last night I threw in the towel and gave up. I had hubby go get me a milk shake. After 15 mins starting feeling better. I had to call 6:45 am today to cancel procedure. Then I called work to say I WILL be in! still not feeling great but no germs so came in

    So sorry that this did not work for you. What is the next step? I know that this is something that is important you do each year. I have done several of these and need to do them yearly. I am very fortunate to have little difficulty with them. Wish I could suggest an easy way to do this. I know that this must be so frustrating for you.

    I have had a colonoscopy a gazillion times too...3 different states/doctors and I've done a different prep almost every time...some were way easy and others completely sucked...I've also had some unsuccessful preps and usually if I called the doc they were able to redirect me and get the job done. Good luck to you!

    I have had 24 in 20 yrs but
    I have had 24 in 20 yrs but who's counting...getting worse each year...I think perhaps my stomach is getting more sensitive-vomit it up...then get dehydrated. I have not called Dr office yet to cancel my follow up. I wish they could put me in OVERNIGHT prep me with some magic IV and sit next to bathroom!

    Dr may think I am over the top..but my family watches me each year...I am not faker, do not like attention etc...just like my Dr (ORTHO) wrote note for me to turn into insurance I have highly debilatiting (SP?) phobic reaction and NEED sedation for simple things. THIS DID Help with geting part of my$1000 refund from dental surgery recently..
