    Hope everything is normal Sephie! I too find that the weeks prior to an exam are the weeks when I have the dreaded 'd' and find all kinds of lumps and bumps to worry about. Then it turns out to be ok (just radiation damage) when I see the colo doctor and things go back to normal. How weird are we?!?!? Not at all, most likely. That old unconscious stress and anxiety can do so much to our bodies!

I was so excited abuot the good news that I didn't see it and she didn't mention it. I sent an email back to MDA to ask about it. Sounds scary to me but we'll see.

    NED is such a good word :)
    NED is the one acronym I don't mind seeing or using - congratulations! I'm 58 now and continually find a variety of 'things' on my body. Ick. Remember way back when, when we worried continually about hair on our legs, did we look ok, and a variety of other non-important things? Haha! Well, they were important then - but now? not so much. Hugs are being sent your way, and prayers too, that this athesceloric calcification is another of the non-important things that come with aging. Stay well, be well.

    Great News! I wish you continued great news. I'll just bet if the aorta calcification was anything to worry about you would have been told about it right away. Like you said the aging process and being that we are scanned we know a lot about our insides. Someone said in a post one time, look at our skin, we have bumps and sores and discoloration, why not on the inside too. I wish you well. Lori

    Well the abdominal aorta calcification is another way of saying that the heart isn't the only place plaque builds up! Nothing to worry about per my doctor, but just continue to monitor my cholestorol levels. I inherited a cholestrol problem. I could eat just lettuce and still have high cholestorol if I don't take Lipitor. Been on Lipitor and my levels are really good.

    I just continue learn more and more about the complexities of the human body. Actually, learning way too much!

    Hi Liz!
    This is good to hear. I am on Lipitor too and just like you, could eat only rabbit food and still have LDL levels through the roof. Thanks mom, dad, grandma and grandpa! lol! The Lipitor seems to be working for me too and no adverse side effects that I'm aware of. It would be nice to get off of it, but I don't think my internist is going to grant that wish. I hear you about TMI when it comes to my own body now. Every scan has all these things that seem scary, but I'm always assured they are not. Times were better when I didn't know about all that stuff! I wish you all good news in the future and the next time I eat lettuce, I'll think of you!

    Happy to hear this! Well, not that lettuce gives you high cholesterol - but that the calcification isn't something to worry about. Yippee!

    Great News!
    It is so reassuring to hear everyones great news on recovery. My one year of end of treatment is 15th of this month and you know I will be celebrating for sure! Congratulations to those of you already celebrating multiple anniversaries and to all of us "passing" each and every scan that comes along. Hugs all around.
