A new word all of our own (scanxiety) - (sigh!)
Hi Liz,
I go for my 3 1/2 year colo-rectal appt in a couple of weeks - yes, scanxiety is already there. Actually, I moved my appointment up because I was having some issues, but naturally now the issues have disappeared. I guess scanxiety will always be with us.
Hope all goes well for you on Monday - I will keep you close in my thoughts and prayers as well.
As a side note concerning prayers: my family gained a new addition last week. My niece gave birth to a new baby boy. He was born 3 months premature because of problems with the placenta not properly nourishing him, but he's doing very well. 1 pound 4 ounces - can you believe it? He's a little living miracle.

Good luck, Liz!
I hope all goes well for you at MDA. I understand the anxiety associated with scans and exams. I just had a CT on Feb. 3rd. (all good news) and tomorrow, I go for my 3-month appt. with my colorectal doc. It seems to never end. I am sure we will both be getting good news. Please post when you know and have a safe trip! Hugs!0 -

Good luck and let us know! I go back end of April and am already anxious!
Rose, Martha and Mike
Wishing you all great results! Rose, my brother's son was born 1.3 ounces. That was almost 30 years ago and he is a strong, healthy man today and recently became a father himself six months ago. I'll keep your new nephew in my prayers. They are miracles!
Hugs,

Funny you should ask...I
Funny you should ask...I just had my 3 month Pet and CT scans yesterday. Tomorrow I see my oncologist, then next week my colorectal surgeon, and finally the week after, my radiologist. Whew! Enough docs? Plus sandwiched in-between I have a dental app't, PT, and dermatologist! Argh!0 -

That pre scan worry must never go away...tho is good we have to go because any problems will be found earlier than people who were never sick and don't get scanned like us. My prayers are with you and anyone else. I had one year scans a couple weeks ago and have an appointment today to discuss treatment for a lump on my breast that fortunately was caught at an AC follow-up. Although not what I wanted to hear, as I said, caught early and would otherwise not know....so a good thing!!! Lots of positive thoughts to you!0 -

Yes, he's quite the fighter - he's the smallest baby in the natal unit and he's doing so well it's amazing. Thanks.
Hope your appointment went well today!

Well a lot of us going for scans, check ups, etc. Wishing everyone great results and let's fill up the board over the next couple weeks with all that good news!
Sephie, I'll miss meeting you at MDA by just 5 days! I wish we could have met in person. Maybe we can coordinate our next appointments around the same time.
Eihtak, wishing you well. So sorry you have to go through this again. As you said, we do have the opportunity to catch things earlier because we are watched so closely.
Okay, banana flavored barium, I'm ready for you! (Yuck...)
Hugs to all. Don't know what I'd do without all of you. You make this journey lighter and your understanding and friendship is priceless.

prayers will go to all for scans and babies and everything else!
I actually look forward to my rectal anoscopes every two months and now every four months. They give me peace of mind so as weird as it seems, I do look forward to it. I just had my exam under anesthesia because of vaginal stenosis and all was good. Continue with the pelvic physical therapy and no reason to think we can't make a full "recovery!" My PT has asked me to be a guest speaker at a conference she is hosting for pelvic physical therapist this coming April. Ironicially, I'd rather have pelvic physical therapy, than speak in front of a group! But, I am gonna do it if it helps give a voice to those of us in this situation. In the meantime severe depression has set in and I find myself a complete mess. Love having this place to unload.0 -

I just wanted to post a short note that my exam with the colorectal doc went very well yesterday. She says everything looks great! I will have a colonoscopy in June.
Thank you to everyone for the good wishes and prayers--it always helps!0 -

That's great of you to speak at that conference. There is nothing like hearing from someone who has been there, done that. I'm sorry you are dealing with depression. Come here anytime to find lots of broad shoulders. I wish you a good day and a nice weekend.0
