The only effects which I had from Neulasta as the aching of the larger bones and the bones in my left hand that were badly broken when I was much younger. I had also felt extreme fatigue to the point where I just put things off as long as possible before getting out of bed. That only last for a couple of days, and since I'd get the shot on Fridays, I tended to refer to as a "Weekend Killer." After about 3 or 4 treatments, these effects stopped happening all together.

My father was taking chemo recently and was doing great until they gave him Neulasta. He walked to the car himself just fine then in a matter of 2 hours after getting the shot at doctors he has to be taken away to th ER in an ambulance. Still there now. He went from being fine to being so far gone mentally we didnt know if it was him anymore. I cant find any information on mental issues being caused by it and lik eI said he was fine til that shot. He kept randomly saying "yes" and "ok " over and over . Really scared at this point.

Can I suggest you start a brand new thread and ask your question. This is an old thread, sadly, several of our members who answered here have passed away.

I understand the pain after the neulasta. My mom was doing fine on chemo alone.  She agreed to have neulasta and my mom passed away 10 days after this injection.  The bone pain she experienced was nothing like they described, in fact, they made the side effects seem like nothing to be concerned about.  Her doctor actually never explained the side effects of neulasta, only the chemo.  When you are at the mercy of your doctor, you have to trust they know what they're doing.  She did not learn about my mom's conditions enough, my mom had copd and emphasema, angina, artheriosclerosis, and high blood pressure. If she knew my mom, she would not have given her neulasta. Neulasta caused anxiety, shortness of breath, hypertension, and shouldn't be given to a patient with angina.  All of these became 10 times worse than what she has lived with. Her pains were more than what her body could handle and she died struggling for breath.  If anyone has these problems, they need to refuse these treatments. We never heard of this. We're never educated on it. We were only knew about chemo.  She only had one shot of chemo. Which she did fine. The one treatment of neulasta started with the bone pain that only got worse, then she was vomiting, then she could hardly breathe.

Did the shot cause or escalate your mom's death.  My husband has many of the same issues your mom did.  Three days after the shot, he's in extreme pain particularly his knees which are artificial knees.  His stomach hurts, says it feels like a rock.  He's on pretty high doses of narcotics already for other pain issues and they aren't touching this pain.  They recommended Pepsid and Clartin when I call the doctor.
