I agree Pat.. Now, it's getting him on track. That is the hard part. i work all day and can not make all his meals and half the time he forgets to eat. Still no muscle mass and weight pretty much ranges between 132 on a good day and 126 on a bad day. He is too weak to do much of anything. I see some light weights and a weekly meal planner and task planner to help get him on track. Now this should get interesting.LOL!! We have our 3rd ENT follow up next month. Scope time!!!

I agree with Mary's suggestion regarding nutrition. If he is not eating properly, he is not fueling his body right and will not have the energy to heal and have his body functioning as well as it could. It's fine that he has been drinking Ensure, but that stuff is not meant as a replacement for food. It is meant to be an addition to help supplement a good diet. Getting a juicer and or a high speed blender emulsifier and using it to get him the nutrients he needs, cannot be overstated! I know it might be a bit of an investment money wise, but it really makes all the difference in the world to get real food into your body. It has things that those drinks cannot provide. Real food stimulates appetite. Fresh fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins and nutrients, fibre and health. You could make him a smoothie or drink before you go in the morning, and he could drink one drink and have almost all the servings of fruit and veg he needs for the day. Eating pasta and an egg sandwich is fine, I eat that too, but you cannot live on it. He needs to eat. Vegetable soups are easy to prepare ahead of time, easy to reheat, and easy to swallow. Things like benecalorie can provide 300 calories in just a few ounces, like about the size of a creamer. Set a timer or an alarm clock to remind him to eat, and make it easy for him, by having the smoothie or soup prepared for him. If he is that thin, and he is having so many issues, he should have a nutritionist on his team, and he should know how many calories he is supposed to be eating a day, and you guys should be tracking them. Sorry if I sound like a nag, but I've been there done that and I'm telling you what worked.
