Depression after treatment

I was diagnosed and treated for cervical cancer in 2010. All follow up appointments have been good and I am nearing my 2 year anniversary of completing treatment. About 6 months after treatment I began feeling anxious and depressed, which has been getting progressively worse. I am almost to the point that I am afraid to be happy for fear that something bad will happen. It is starting to take a toll on my marriage as he is tired of the person I have become. I have finally decided to seek professional help to help me overcome my issues. I was wondering if anyone has felt this way and if so, did you try professional help? Did it help you get back to almost feeling normal again?

Welcome
Hi Dorrie
Welcome to this discussion board. I was a caregiver for my dad, Ray. He passed from esophageal cancer in March 2010. I know all about the feelings of anxiety and depression. My dad finally did go for counseling and was put on ativan for the anxiety. The counseling helped tremendously. You feel happy and positive whenever you can. You have to live for today. You are a survivor and congratulations on that!
Keep in touch. We are always here for you.
