Hi, hello!
Have taken a little break.Just thought today, oh my, have not been to see how everyone is doing.Quite a few new members, happy to happy to have them here, yet not happy this is why!!!! My mom's still hangin in. Her next ca125 is next week i think. She looks wonderful. She looks healthy. She's eating great. She's back at work twice a week. I like her new short salt n pepper hair. We went to mac cosmetics and got her some great foundation and blush so she looks colorful. I just think it's too good to be true. I want to believe she will remain in remission for 5 or more years. I get scared. Well, enough whining. Take care everyone.

Welcome back
As a fellow caregiver to my mom, you deserve a break whenever you can get one and don't apologize for taking it!!! It is well deserved. Glad to hear mom is well, working and feeling good. I am trying not to look too much into the future as the damn statistics of this disease always linger in my mind. The good news is that my mom is feisty and has no intention of listening to any timeline drawn by others. She fully intends to live with this disease on her own terms. As such, I too must live each day as it comes. I've always said, thank god for makeup!!! Glad to hear mom is well. Hang in there.

Your mum is lucky to have you as a daughter
Your mum sounds a bit like me. I am waiting on latest ca125 & scan results after finishing my 3rd lot of chemo 6 weeks ago. I am feeling well and am still working 3 days a week. Don't worry too much about your mum - she will weather this storm and continue to take the treatment and do well. We all know that this cancer is chronic and we can live with it while having chemo every now and again to keep it stable. I understand how you feel - helpless and scared. I felt like that when my mum had cancer and in some ways it is harder on the family as there is nothing you can do but think about it and worry. Just enjoy everything you do together as I'm sure you do.

I agree Tina. I had to watch my three kids look on as they saw me go through treatment and surgery. I'm divorced (12 years) so I have been their mainstay for many years. To see that threatened, especially for my youngest and still at home, must have been very scary. However I was amazed by their courage and strength and they bought me so much comfort. My lovely son visited me after surgery presenting with balloon saying "It's a Boy"...it may have confused the staff and bemused onlookers but it was a fun thing to wake up to and spoke volumes as it showed his courage and humour throughout. I'm sure I wouldn't have survived without them....
I hope you are well by the way Tina.

Daughters..
Well done for supporting your mum so well. It's hard looking on but believe me, she will benefit so much from your input. Wishing you all good things,

Hi Best Friend
I am so pleased to hear that your mum is doing so good! Its a treat after all and gives you some sort of break even if you are worrying.. I too am in your position. Mum is in "remission" and have been only on hormones since december and she is doing great! A big change from how things were last summer.. She has been to Bangkok on holiday and that changed something within her. Now she knows things are possible and that surely makes a difference. She is up for next scan in about three weeks. I keep my fingers crossed that thing are still stable. CA125 is even down in last check-up. So, I too try to not think much ahead. Right know is better than it has been in a long time.
Love to you,

Thanks ladies! I feel very grateful even to have had christmas and now the summer s coming. If it were up to the doc with her first opinion she would have been on her deathbed by now. Amazing how much the treatments have changed for this cancer. I am hoping my mom does see that you can live. She can work, be with her grandkids, and than if things get a little tough again we will just do it again. I have been having bad dreams lately about the cancer returnng and am hoping this is not the case yet. Don't wanna forget the odds. Will check in again soon! Promise. Hope everyone is well and thanks to everyone for being there for me and my mom. I don't know how i would've made it through the chemo without such caring people!0
