Well thanks to you and my family and friends, I am feeling so much better! Today, I called my boss and told him that I was not coming back to work until the fall. My teaching job is safe, I will still be paid thanks to our union's sick bank, and I have a great substitute teacher. It truly is a load off of my mind.
Regarding the ex, if he can't give me what I need, then that is his problem - I can no longer make it mine. My family and friends have assured me that they will do whatever I need and at any time. I have had to learn to accept their help.
Thank you for all of the encouraging and comforting posts. You helped bring me back after a trying week.

Clarity .. and a peace of mind is very important during our fight thru breast cancer.
Congratulations on getting yourself to a good and 'safe' place.
Strength, Courage and Hope.

VS is right. The treatment takes all your energy and you need to accept that you need to step back, and accept help. its humbling for sure. I am a very determined person, and it was so hard for me to accept my body would not do what i wanted it to, no matter how much I willed it too. Prob a function of age too. you will come out better, if youtake care of you. Weed out the unneccessary(sp) people, embrace the special ones. You will get through, but one must advocate for themselves. Yay0 -

Glad you were able to do this, sounds like it gave you what you needed to get through the treatments. I know that some work through it, and some do not. The first time around I worked through the treatments because I didn't have a choice, we were in the middle of a merge and my job would not have been safe. Mostly I needed the medical benefits so that I could be treated.
This time around, I was in a more secure position with my job, but the cancer would not allow me to work, I was in too much pain and too exhausted, now I am on permanent disability.
As far as the ex, he may surprise you once he gets through this, or he may not, but either way, it sounds like you have a good support system without him.
My best to you,
Carol0
