That is so great, Anne
On top of everything you should not have to stress about how you are going to survive financially. Having worked for a public benefits agency, my advice is to persevere. Your worker was sick but sometimes there is so much work it doesn't get done quickly enough or mistakes are made. I always advise people to contact a supervisor if you do not get results. There is a certain amount of time in which benefits should be issued. If you do not hear anything within that time period, again contact a supervisor. Also people are people. I was very lucky with the social security worker I had. She knew about benefits I should have been receiving that I was not aware I was entitled to. If I had gotten another worker that person may not have been as well informed or dedicated to the job.
Great news!

GREAT NEWS, ANNE!
So glad to hear that you had an advocate to process everything for you. And God's blessings also to your church congregation for coming through for you, too. It's difficult enough to face this disease, let alone deal with these 'worldly' snags.
Lots of Hugs and continued Prayers!

This is great to hear.
This is great to hear. Sometimes it seems like we forget about the financial aspect of this. It is another war in and of itself. I am tickled pink to hear your news!0 -

I had been calling for two months and no one would talk to me they would send my call to a voice mail and then no one would called me back. When I got just fed up with it I went only and found the number to AHCCCA and just called them instead of going to DES anymore. When I called I found out for two months I was calling the wrong please DES did not have anything to do with this it was all AHCCCS. Now that I know this I will be keeping on top of this. Thanks Kikz for your kind words I also worked for a state department. FAA and then moved to the office that set up new offices. I do understand thay are really over worked with clients and not enough help.
