Update...some good news

I haven't been on much lately...too many hours working and dog tired through all of it. You know the chemo fatigue is bad when all you've done is a shower and you're already worn out....
Here's the good news...that open wound is no longer open, it now has skin. It's still a hole, but it's a hole with skin...the nurse said I no longer have to see her every Friday for wound care! That's one less medical chore. I just have to "clean it like you would your belly button".
My next CT scan is the 24th, I'll get a call from my onc within a day or two with results. Best case scenario is the armidex is working and he will be able to reduce the dose, worst case is it's not working and we try another chemo. I'm already getting a little anxious when I think about it...so I'm trying to keep my head in the sand on that one.
You are all in my thoughts daily.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda...
So happy to hear the wound has finally started to heal....YEAH! I share your anxiety about the scans...I go Tuesday to see my oncologist...I feel certain he will be ordering scans to see what the upped dosage of the Zeloda has done...keeping my fingers crossed..and to see if he ever got approval from my insurance company for the Avastin...I don't see that happening, so we'll see what's "next"....I try to maintain the attitude, "it is what it is" but it gets harder....sometimes it's hard to stay positive....but for the most part I feel pretty darned good, which is a blessing for sure...more fatigue the week I'm on the Zeloda...but I can deal with that...problem with my arm bothers me more than anything...
Keep us posted on your scans...you know how much we care!
I think of you often and always wish you the best....
Big hugs, Nancy0 -
