Result of PET/CT scan

in Ovarian Cancer #1
I had another scan because my CA-125 went from 14 to 85 in two months. The NP called yesterday with the news that yes, my cancer has recurred, but I have to wait till Wednesday to see the doctor and go over the results. I was glad to hear something, rather than waiting the whole weekend, even if the news is not so great. I was really hoping that my NED status would last longer than 6 months. Trying to keep my spirits up...

    So sorry, Jo, that your cancer has reoccurred. I'm sure though that your doctor will have a "game plan" in place next Wednesday. Sending you good thoughts and prayers.

    That sucks...I hope that you are doing as best as you can. Come Wednesday I hope you have multiple options to go with this. I find if I can choose for myself, I feel better. There seems to be quite a bit of chemo combos that women have seen bring results. I have researched multiple lines of chemos and there is quite a bit to mix from.

    are going your way right now I know how you feel. I am soooooo sorry for what you are going through and that your cancer is back you will be in my prays and thoughts please relax until you see the doctor right now there is nothing you can do so enjoy your weekend and get ready for the fight. A week ago Wednesday I had a catscan because my CA125 went from 6 to 52 in six weeks. I had to wait until the 30th to find out I was a reck by the time I went into the office, Even the nurse knew something was wrong she pulled my mom adise while I was getting wieghed and aks what is wrong with her she does not look good. I asked the nurse as soon as she walked through the door do you have my test results and what are they. She would not tell me I just wanted to know, when the doctor came in he said he thinks I am a saw tooth kinda gal meaning my ca-125 will go up and come down sharply while not haveing the cancer back my scan was clear. He said he would watch and see if it goes up or down for a while. I had maitance chemo Thursday and asked what my CA-125 was and they did not have it and said they would call Friday I still have not heard from then and I am pissed I have to wait until Monday. I

    So sorry that it is back and I cant even imagine having to wait to hear the details and the plan. Everyone on here is right...you can beat it again and maybe this time it will get rid of it for good. Keep us posted. We are all here for you.

    Hi Jo,

    My hubby always reminds me that cancer isn't an emergency and even when we think it's back, we don't have to rush to make decisions. Of course, having said that, I know EXACTLY how you feel. You'll feel much better when you have a plan in place and the waiting ends and you start fighting again.

    Patience is not my middle name either
    I am sad that the numbers are going up and the waiting is unbearable. Sometimes I think the not knowing is worse than anything. We are strong people and with have dealt with the unpleasantness of this hideous disease and keeping it at bay...but its only human nature to struggle fighting this battle in our hearts and minds. Remember we are God's children...not statistics.

    Personally, if the docs wouldn't tell me I am sick..I'd do okay...they seem like the like to rain on my parade and I'm tired of it. You too?

    Gotta get ready for my radiation treatment...trying to convince them to do a facial at the same time (not likely to happen, but I can hope).
