We use the Angel Juicer, an amazing piece of equipment. It is best suited for vegetable juice rather than fruit. It is expensive but worth it. We get about 800ml of juice out of 1kg of carrots, a very good conversion rate and the pulp is very very dry. We also have a Samson but the Angel is a lot better.0 -

I had the Champion juicer. It's one of the easiest to clean and
maintain, the parts are very inexpensive (should you ever need to
replace one; I never did), and the company stands behind every
unit, regardless if it's new or used. It will juice a brick; it's that
heavy-duty!
I bought mine from someone local on Craigslist for around
$125. It was like new and complete.
The Champion is a heavy machine, as are the better ones,
so you would want to make room on the counter for it.
Due to a short bowel condition, I shouldn't ingest more than
two cups of any liquid a day; I reluctantly sold the Champion
and do wish I had it back... You can pack an awful lot of
fruits and veggies into a 1/4 or 1/2 cup.. alot more than I eat
for any one week.....
Good luck!

Juicer
I'm not real big on vegetable juice and much prefer orange and grapefruit juice. All I have is a simple hand operated press type juicer. I've had electric ones in the past and I like this one the best. It's quick, simple and easy to clean and it gets more juice out than electric juicers. Plus it's just a little bit more exercise and every little bit helps.

This is the model we chose to start with. Everyone I have inquired to has suggested Vitamix I believe but is something like $500 and not in budget at the moment. We are just getting going as it is what my husband was told the last time in hospital to get a juicer and get use to using it as it will be easier on his system. Now with pending liver surgery next week the naturopath has given us a recipe that is excellent for the liver specifically. If anyone one is in need or interested I will be happy to post it.

Please post your recipe. I am new to juicing too. I wish we could set up a recipe box on here! ....I was looking at buying the Jack Lalanne too and ended with the Omega Vert (out of my budget) but QVC does payments and I figured I can manage it that way.Carl_Renee said:Jack Lalanne

I too wish there was a recipe section. Anyhow here is what my husbands naturo dr. suggested:
carrots and beets (or any root vegetable) is liver supportive. Cabbage has glutamine-helpful for mucosal lining of GI tract. Stay away from too many fruits and stick mostly to juicing veggies. Drink fresh juices 2-3 x's per day.
Recipe:
1/2 apple
3 stalks celery
fennel-few pieces
1/2 lime

Thanks for posting the recipe -- it is one I might be able to tolerate even with my food allergies. I would have to test out the fennel first to see if it causes a reaction, but I know I could consume the rest of the stuff.
