Fibrosis on togue

Hello, I´m 51 days past my partial glossectomy surgery. Still feeling fibrosis and hard areas in the tongue. I was T1N0M0. Has anyone on something like that? Can u share experiences? thanks

    It is not fibrosis you are feeling,
    it is induration. Not the same thing. Induration is hardening from acute swelling, which is left over from surgery. It will gradually resolve over a long period of time--- up to a year or more depending on the circumstances.

    Fibrosis is scarring, the deposition of fibrin and like products. This is never seen soon after surgery, but gradually accumulates over the months as surgery heals. You could almost write a song about these two: "As the induration goes down,
    The fibrin goes up...."

    Come to think of it, that wouldn't be a very good song. Never mind.

    If you are developing something that you're concerned about, the surgeon needs to see it. My point was your tongue should not be normal yet. It should still be fairly woody and somewhat tender around the scar. On the other hand if you have a mass the size of a golf ball in the incision, it is not normal. The song was just a poor joke. Sorry about that.
