Update on mammo freak out!
All Is Good!!!
I went back this morning and they took 2 more pictures of the area in question. The radiologist read them immediately. The tech came back and said that what was showing up was a "fiber fold". There was no need for an ultrasound and I should just come back in a year for my next mammo.
I hope I never have to go through something like this again. I think my husband was even more worried than I was. When we got out to the car after the appointment he broke down and cried. This is not something he normally does. Of course, he then said "living with me was like russian roulette". I agreed and we both laughed.
I have a follow up appointment with my surgeon in a couple of weeks so I will see what his reaction to all of this is as well.
Hugs to All,
Georgia

I think
I think once you get past a couple of mammos and get some time behind you it may not feel so intense. It is an awful scare none the less. Glad for the good news.0 -

Great News and happy for you and your husband. It is scary.
I know exactly what you mean.I went through this in July.Had the ultrasound as soon as the tumor was found on mammo.I wasn't sure what it was.Later had a needle biopsy and it was a benign tumor.Just went in for my 6 month mammo this week and everything is fine. Like you I won't go back for a year.I'm going to be faithful on my monthly self exams.

I love good news. Never heard of a 'fiber fold' but I am glad they are there so that is what it could be:) Have to say, your husbands reaction was really sweet, shows how much he loves and cares for you. How lucky to have each other.
Hugs to you both on this one.
