For some of you who think there is no hope in sight, there is hope

I was diagnosed 2 years ago november. my primary doctor told me to sign up for hospice, he called my husband aside and told him to get my things in order that there was not much hope for me.

I was sent to a wonderful onocologist and when he opened me up all my organs were stuck together, he was unable to take my uterus or cervix, all he could safely remove was my ovaries and both tubes. a stent was place in my ureder for about 10 months.

I started chemo in december a month after my surgery. after the third chemo my blood starting going nuts, i had to have blood transfusions, then my white count went haywire. after the fourth chemo, my white count went almost as low as it can go. i was given so many neupagen shots and neulasta, nothing brought my white count back up. after about a month of trying these shots my onocologist decided he had done all he could do, your counts have to be a certain level in order to recieve chemo and mine was way too low at this time.

my ca 125 was great it went from 4500 to 500 afater surgery and by the second round of chemo it had dropped to 12. by the time i had finished my 4th round of carbo taxol it was down to 8. My doctor felt that the cancer was gone and was pretty confident that a PET scan would show no evidence of cancer. I was seheduled the PET scan and sure enough it showed no evidence of cancer. I was dancing with NED. My doctor considers me a true miracle, I feel so blessed and am so gratefula dn thankful.

Just to let others know God still heals today and there is hope for tomorrow.

It will be 2 years next month since i had my last chemo, i am still having blood issues but nothing bad, just a little low. I feel great and have regained all of my strength back.

If there is anything I can possiblly do to help any of you ladies going through this just let me know, I am only an email away. I will be glad to pray for you anytime.

God bless all of you teal sisters and I love you all
Hugs Lynda

    You're so right, Lynda
I felt doomed when I first got my dianosis and many times through chemo and surgery and then more chemo but I am here too. I was down in the dumps over the weekend over my current blood test but with the help of the women on this board I am back to my "normal" self. It is a struggle at times but I feel lucky and blessed to be so well and living my life like I did before ov/ca. Except of course I am retired and have a lot less stress.

    What a great story
Thanks for sharing, I know it is normal to drift away from this board if you are doing well but especially newer members need to see there is a long term future for some of us.

It is so nice to hear good stories! My mom is having issues with her blood counts as well and gets a pet scan tomorrow. I'm praying it is clear. So happy for you!

    AMEN TO THAT!
Thank you for sharing with us, Lynda. That is quite a testimony! And I believe that God and prayer cannot ever be overstated - He is my Rock, and He has blessed me with so much. As scripture tells us, 'the prayer of a righteous man avails much'. To paraphrase, our prayers do not go unheard nor unanswered. Of course, not always answered in our time or the way we would like. Nonetheless, He is faithful, loving and the Great Physician.

God bless, Lynda. Hugs & Prayers to you, too!

Beautifully said. Only through God's grace, mercy, and abundant love do I meet each day with hope. It's a win-win for me...to be absent from you is to be present with the Lord. Any that day my friend is for God's choosing, until then He has work for this servant to do. I'll keep all you sisters in prayers. I wish you the peace, happiness and reassurance I have through my faith.

Thank you ladies for giving God Credit
I appreciate the testimony of you ladies who are trusting God through this cancer ordeal. I like what a lady told me in the oncologist office a few weeks ago, "we are not cancer survivors, we are cancer overcomers!" Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." That gives me hope!

Thanks so much for sharing your story...every time we hear folks being told "to call in the cavalry", we hear about someone beating and defying what the doctors say.

It truly reminds us we are a statistic of 1...

    Stay healthy Miss Lynda!!
