Can you have bowel issues without reoccurance?

I just had a clean CT scan 6 weeks ago and my CA125 was 14. This last week I have had to use laxatives with little result. Normally I use lomotil once in a while but never need laxatives. Could something be growing that fast or could it be the beginning of an obstruction from scar tissue or some such thing? Has anyone else had bowel issues and it not be a reoccurance?

It's hard to say what is
It's hard to say what is causing the constipation. For me, all I have to do is travel and I get irregular. If stop drinking coffee, I get irregular. Inactivity messes me up, too. There are are lot of factors that affect the bowels. I would think that a bowel obstruction would also be painful & noisy (there are strange noises like water rushing thru a compressed hose).

It is true that peritoneal cancer can slow down the bowels but that would raise your CA-125, too. As long as your number is good & your scan is clean, treat yourself as a normal person with constipation. Hopefully, you are OK.

    Bowel issues...
I had a resection along with my original surgery and believe I have scar tissue that causes or makes my constipation issues worse. I agree that I would treat it like normal constipation, especially since you just had a clean CT ( congrats!). Like Carlene says "Not everything is cancer".... I repeat that to myself quite often... sigh.

    Pain medication
Are you taking any pain medications? I am on several pain medications and that is why I have to problems you should talk with you doctor and let him/her know what is going on. They will be able to tell what to do to help you from getting any worst.
