Ovarian and Cervical Cancer seems I got both !!
My Doc is starting me on Chemo again after 1st Feb , I will have chemo every 3 weeks for 6 weeks to kill any escape cells from the ovarian cancer. Am ready to fight this I am determine to beat it. One thing is the Ovarian cancer was one tumor had not spread yet we don;t think unlike the papilary cancer of cervix .
Is this common to have two cancers he said they are not related tumors as far as he knows these are both separate cancers how could I get two cancers ? hugs to all out there who are fighting hard ........I will fight ill last breath
HUGS YOU ALL TIGHTLY luv Donna from Australia xox

These are two completely unrelated cancers
which makes your situation very rare. I wish you the best of fortune with your treatment. What is being used for chemotherapy?0 -

Cervical cancer is a result of the HPV infection. There is a preventive vaccine for cervical cancer now being offered to young girls.
I dont know why surgery wasn't done when you were diagnosed with the first cancer. Your story is kind of unusual. Best wishes to you.0 -

Why they did the surgery after the chemo and radiation is because with papilary serous carsonoma it spreads fast and easily it was already in lymph nodes , one kidney stem they thought lungs but that come back clear now , my uterus and cervix the cancer was larger than 4.5 cm which is what they wanted for surgery my tumor was 8.5 cm and growing rapidly. So was shrink first and then operate , it responded realy well to chemo and radiation and was significant reduction and some actually disappeared . So then they operated finding the ovarian tumor.
I did not know my story was unusual ? i have heard of others getting two types of cancers I guess its not so common though .
Yes I know about the vaccine my daughter has had it thank goodness that she may be spared from this ........thank-you for well wishes Donna0 -

Papilary Serous Carsonoma of cervix is not HPV virus I believe its a different type of cancer to normal cervical cancer if you can call an cancer normal and to have papillary of cervix is apparently rare in itself .0 -

Surgeon
Hi Donna,
I don't know what services are available to you in Australia. Is the doctor who did the surgery a gynecological oncologist? If not, that is who you want to go back in, if that is the plan. I'm a bit surprised they didn't remove anything during your surgery. When I was diagnosed with stage IIIc ovarian cancer, papillary serous adenocarcinoma, all my innards were glued together in one big ball; uterus, bowels, ovaries... My surgron said it was not going to be an easy surgery, but he did it and I managed to avoid a colostomy. My results were suboptimal, but the subsequent chemo and integrative therapies got the remaining tumor and I am currenlty NED. Just be sure, when you have surgery again, the surgeon has extensive experience in debulking surgery.0 -

Wow! I am stressed with just one cancer. You are very brave and your spirit shines thru. Does your country have an organization like the American Society? They are very helpful. You can even go on there website and request info.0 -

Fallopian tube cancer is pretty rare and then when I went for my first ct/pet scan after first line chemo they found kidney cancer ! I had my right kidney removed last January and even though the tumor was aggressive I barely even remember that I am a kidney cancer survivor. Some of us have all the luck, lol. Good luck

Diagnosed with 2 different Cancers
I had a total abdominal hysterectomy, along with removal of the ovaries and omentum and lymph nodes on Aug. 24th. As suspected, uteran cancer was found, but also cancer was found on both ovaries. I was told that there were 2 cancers going on at the same time...the one cancer had not metastasized, and that was a good thing. I also have been undergoing chemo (Taxol/Carboplatin) treatments. I was fortunate that they found the other cancer in an early stage during my surgery. I just finished my 7th one last Monday and may have an 8th treatment before I'm finished. I hope you do well with your treatments and are able to get past this.0
