Praise God! CT update.

Well I went in for my 1 month post chemo check-up and received great news. My MO said all my blood work is normal and everything looks very good. He then went over the results of my CT to check 2 spots on my liver that they couldn't determine what they were when I had a prior CT scan. Apparently now they could see them clearly and they identified them as benign (cysts). That was the best news I've had in a long time, because I have done nothing but worry. Now I just have to make it through 33 radiation treatments and reconstruction.

I asked my MO about my stiff joints and muscles since I finished chemo and he said that was due to the chemo pretty much shutting down the estrogen in my body. After I am sitting for a period of time and get up it feels like I have the body of a 90 year old until I get myself moving. It appears that this is something I will just have to live with. All the more reason to keep up the exercise and incorporate yoga into my life!

    AMEN!
This is super awesome! Great news. I am very happy for you. I hope you celebrate this weekend. After all the emotional stress we go through while we “wait”…we deserve a nice break and relaxation. So I hope you do that.

May you continue to receive nothing but good news.

    Great News!
It is good to hear your great news. Another suggestion I can give you for your stiff joints is water areobics. It is great exercise and low impact. You will probably have to wait until you finish rads for that. They wouldn't let me in the water during my rad treatments. Good luck on your next part of the journey.

I'm so happy for you. It's always nice to hear good news on the board. I'm on hormone therapy and always feel like a 90 year old, especially when I get out of the car after a long ride :-)

    Happy New Year!

This is just wonderful. Chemo is done, and your liver is superb! Yahoo!

I was stiff after sitting too long before all this happened. I'm not 90, but I hope I get to be 90!

GREAT news! I am so happy
and proud of you. Complete chemo is very difficult for many of us 'Chemo Queens' --, so
I will add your name to our Sorority.

Benign is good news -- and a celebration is in order. Regaining your strength will
come in time. Gently push yourself, when possible.

Rest up and prepare your body for Radiation.

Strength, Courage and Hope for a Cure.

    Great praise report, Penny!
Hi! I'm totally new in this network, so I don't know all of your history. But, I want to tell you that if this is your first, and hopefully last, experience with cancer, it does tend to change your body. That's not always so terrible, but my first time around was 14 years ago, and I found that my body required a lot of "maintenance" afterward. Those aches and pains can be chronic, but yoga sounds like a great way to help deal with it. I can't move around like I want to right now, but intend to go back to all the stretching moves that helped me before when this is over. I think post-cancer, my lifestyle became more healthy and active overall. Taking longer and longer walks was good for both weight-bearing and aerobic exercise.

I know it isn't easy, but I got through 40 radiation treatments without immediate complications. Just remember that radiation changes your tissue too. It could affect your healing ability after reconstruction, so be sure that you ask your plastic surgeon tons of questions, and don't rush into anything. Give your body time to heal from the treatments. I had no burns, but was wiped out from it all - which all improves over time. Wish you the best!

your wonderful news. I see my onc every 3 months and hope he gives me good news each and every time. I'm hoping your sore joints get better with time. I have osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis and sore joints have defined me. I have to get up every half hour to move around. LOL
