My MRI was clear!

I went for my 3 month follow up at UAB Wednesday the 18th, and the Dr. said that everything looked better on the MRI than it did the last time. There was a small cyst on the MRI that showed up a few months after my surgery in 2009 that they have just been watching, and he states that it even looks smaller. There is no sign of recurrence at the tumor site, and he showed us the MRI from 3 months ago and now. There is a beautiful difference. I do not have to go every 3 months, he states that he feels it will be alright to come for follow ups every 4 months now. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers from all of you.

I am very excited about my news, but also very sad to learn of some of the set backs for some of you on here. I almost did not share my good news due to the fact that there are so many that deserve good news as well. I know I should not feel that way, and I want each of you to know that I am praying very hard for all of you to get great news as well.

Cindy, I am so sorry about David's setback, and I am praying very hard for him! Also Momsworld has been on my mind as well. Has anyone heard from her? Please keep me in your prayers, and I will continue to pray for everyone on this site as well.

Thoughts and Prayers,

Michelle

    Yay, yay, and YAY!!!!
    Hi, Michelle! :)

Oh, your report brought a huge smile to my face! LOVED reading it! I actually laughed out loud when I read where you said, "There is a beautiful difference!" I love that you can say "beautiful" about an MRI! :)

I understand that you feel a little funny about sharing good news when some of us aren't having the best time right now...I've felt that way a few times myself, back when David was doing better. But please, never feel or think that way! Your MRI is a victory for all of us here on CSN! Anyone who does well gives hope and encouragement and joy to all of us! I just love reading your good news!

David seems better again today. I did call his NO and I talked to one of the nurses for a long time. They don't think that the changes I'm describing are really worrisome because overall, he is doing good. She said that she would mark his file and be sure that the doctors talk to me about my concerns about doing the IA. She also said that there are a lot of different things that can cause swelling, but they have not had IA chemo cause that problem except on rare occasions, and they can't be sure that it was the IA that caused swelling anyway....could have been a number of factors. So I feel better about David doing chemo next week.

Thank you again, Michelle, so much, for your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them! I too have had momsworld and her daughter on my heart and mind and in my prayers....I haven't seen a post recently but I can only imagine how hard it must be for her to write about their situation. I think she checks these posts though....momsworld, if you are reading this, please know that you are in so many of our hearts and minds and prayers. May God give you and your daughter strength, peace, and comfort.....

    Love and blessings,
    Cindy

    What wonderful new!
Thank you so much for sharing your good news. I am so happy for you! And don't feel "guilty" about sharing your good news on this site. It brings a ray of sunshine to all of us going through this.

Actually, sometimes I hesitate to share any negative news about our situation...that I am being a "downer" for those on this site looking for hope and postive news. But I don't know what I would do if I couldn't share on this site...good or bad.

In sharing the good and bad, it makes me feel that I am not alone, and that we are all on this journey together

But that's the beauty of this group...this is the place where we can vent and share with others who understand.

God bless you and prayers to all.

    Thanks Everyone!!!
Cindy: Thanks you for reminding me that everyone on here is supportive of the good and the bad alike. I agree this is a place where we can all talk about everything that we may not feelcomfortable talking to others about! I am so glad that David is doing better. I hope you are right and Momsworld is still reading the posts, and knows that we all are thinking of her.

Edna, Connsteele, and PBJAustin: Thanks for the kind words and keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I keep your families in my prayers as well.

Tmfaubus: I was diagnosed on October 20, 2009, and had surgery that removed two cysts on each size of an egg sized tumor on my left frontal lobe. I had 6 weeks of radiation where I went 5 days a week, and took 75 MG of Temodar every day for the 6 weeks. Once the Radiation was over, I went to 250 MG of Temodar for 5 days every 28 days. I did the chemo for a year, and had to go for follow up MRI's every 3 months. After this MRI I have to go every 4 months now. I have been tumor free for 2 years and 3 months!!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thats wonderful, so glad to here it is going well for you. Even though not all of us are lucky enough to have things go well, I for one am glad to hear when someone does well.
I still come on her even though my sister lost her battle, to check on those that supported
me. This was where I turned everyday during my sisters fight to vent, to the only people that truely knew what I was going through...

Thank you, 4theloveofmysis, for continuing to visit this site. I remember your posts right from the first time I found CSN, when this whole nightmare started for us last April. I've learned so much from those who come to this site, and received much support. Sometimes I feel like we are all sitting around the kitchen table, sharing our stories along with a cup of tea. And of course sharing a few tears.

I hope the holidays weren't too painful for you and that the memories of your beloved sister are a healing balm.

Please continue to keep in touch.
